Time to crowd source for wisdom.

My friend/roomie is dating a 47-year-old. She's 25. It's been 6 months or so. I was hoping it'd be over by now. She practically lives with him. I know she can do way better. She says she loves him. I know she's capable of loving someone her own age or who at least has his life together. I also don't want to be nosy or weird. We are also not bffs so I'm not on a talk-about-everything level with her. I really have no clue why she likes him. I've been trying to figure it out for months. He's nice, but that it.

Second the suggestion for "The Girls Who Went Away." It made me understand that whole "We don't talk about certain things" attitude my grandparents (who I describe as "still live in the 1950s") have.

Yeah bad stuff happened but it was very much hushed up in order to keep up appearances.

I, for one, am extremely extremely grateful that I live now and not in 1950.

They have juice and tea! Or just bring water and get a muffin.

RODENTS there's a reason we're naturally creeped out by them even though they're way small.

Maybe she should just "accidentally" let the mouse out around some cats.... it'd be nature/cycle of life!

When I first went on the pill was like when I first started having sex. The pill itself was making me pukey. So then I thought I was pregnant constantly. :\ Took me a while to figure out that I should blame the pill.

I'm on a pill that gives me very light/sometimes no periods. It was very confusing and worrisome at first because it's just kind of sporadic whether I do or don't.

I learned that I should p well trust it though, because I am responsible about taking the pill. Also my gyno told me that since my periods when I'm not on the pill are hell (pukey and lightheaded), that I'll probably have very bad sickness if I'm ever pregnant. So I figure I'll know p quick.

I also had a cousin that at 19 claimed she wasn't pregnant when she oh-so-clearly was. She was thin and that was def a giant preggo belly. Idk if she was in denial/shame or if she had plans to give the baby up for adoption upon birth and changed her mind? I have no idea. No one talks about it. Everyone pretends that her suddenly having a baby after claiming for a few months that she wasn't pregnant was totally normal. She had no medical care the entire time. She told her parents she wasn't pregnant just fat, and I guess they went along with it.

Dude. Every person I bring up this show is like one or two degrees removed from someone this has happened to! It's common!

I know one person who this has happened to, a lady that went to my family's church when I was a kid. My mom said she knew someone else who at least claimed this was the case, and my friend had someone from his school that this happened to. IT'S REAL GUYS.

My brother will call my mom who lives 100 miles away from him to tell her he can't find x pair of shoes or his tv remote. She gets a kick out of this.

I always thought of "look with your eyes not your mouth" as a very Dad thing to say because that's what my dad always said.
