Don’t get me wrong, I totally agree with my fellow Conservatives here regarding the character of these two absolute buffoons. Boxer and Sharpton are the poster children for Liberal Fascism. But, whoever wrote this story needs to write a retraction and the story should be re-written by an honest journalist. THIS is precisely the kind of unfounded, misleading journalism we completely abhor in the main stream media. Boxer never said what the writer claims… only what he/she wants you to THINK she said. The writer states, “Boxer essentially says the right to insurance trumps religious rights and freedoms.” (Emphasis on the word “essentially”.) Boxer never said that. Her argument was that given the way the Blunt Amendment is worded, then an employer could withhold “medicine” (aspirin? insurance coverage? whatever??) from an employee based on religious beliefs. Never mind that Boxer and Sharpton were engaging in the typical Socialist/Communist ‘straw man’ diversion and their statements are cleverly crafted to produce unfounded fear in the minds of their very limited liberal audience. But this piece is the equivalent of the half-fabricated, half-true, fear-induced broadcast e-mails that litter your inbox day in and day out. It reminds me of the old Telephone game we played as little children where the truth gets lost in whispered iterations. This kind of ‘reporting’ doesn’t belong on legitimate conservative blogs. (it’s why most Liberals rarely take Conservative Christians seriously).

As a former fire chief, I can assure you that the world evidently survived and thrived just fine for thousands of generations with devastating forest fires (lightning-caused) occurring annually. Forests burned and were renewed naturally. The problems began when governmental powers deemed certain sections of the landscape more beautiful than the rest and deluded themselves into thinking they could control Mother Nature with their good intentions and preserve the present landscape as THEY preferred to view it. Hey, Environmentalists, Mother Nature doesn't give a $h!+ about your good intentions. She'll destroy you in the end, too, without the least concern. You won't enjoy it, but hey, it's nature. The forests thrived through all the eons before the government promised that you could have a 500 year old primeval sampling in every state. Leave nature alone; it gets nasty when you tamper with it.

If you were a cop, you'd understand why they are fed up to their armpits with the PC crap. ANYONE who gives the cops a load of crap should expect to get their heads handed to them, no questions asked. Yes, there is excessive force used on occasion, but the cops are the thin blue line between civility and anarchy. I've known lots of cops and my hat's off to them for what they have to do. Theirs is a calling beyond ANY average employed persons work. If they have to bust heads, so be it. If you only knew the crap they have to endure and absorb. Every day, by and large, they do the work of the Lord.

So. As it turns out, what we've all heard about the "raid" on this "humanitarian mission" isn't quite accurate. In fact, these words are only more agitprop tripe from the global media. This was neither a 'humanitarian mission', nor was the IDF conducting a 'Raid'. This whole incident was nothing more and nothing less than a publicity STUNT -- designed to demean Israel on a global level. And for the feeble-minded, it has worked as expected. And just look at all the hysteria and protests. However, it turns out that the TOTAL amount of aid materials and supplies on ALL SIX SHIPS was equal to ONE-FOURTH the amount that ISRAEL SHIPS INTO GAZA EVERY SINGLE DAY! Let's recap: 1) A pure publicity stunt, (2) staged for the mass media, (3) has the world's 'progressives' and professional busy-bodies foaming at the mouth like Pavlov's dogs because (4) Israel just followed the law. Did you catch the subtle disconnect there? (Don't give yourselves a headache thinking about it!) See how easy it is to confound the left? Way too much TV during those formative years; way too many sound bites swallowed (and regurgitated) as Truth. Automatons by osmosis. It would be merely pathetic, but these are the mental midgets running the asylum right now!

Let's say you have a little guest house out on the back 40 and decide to give it to a work-release prisoner to help rehabilitate himself. The dude resents that he can only use your driveway to get to the house, resents you for owning the land in the first place, turns hostile and starts shooting at you every time you go outside. He's shot up your house and rendered his own little plot worthless, but the media still portrays him as a victim. You've tried appeasing him by giving him more and more of your property, but he resents you all the more for it; HELL NO, he wants ALL you possess, because he thinks his family owned the property a thousand years ago. His relatives have threatened to kill you and your family so you hire 24 hour protection, just in case. Now, here come the relatives trampling across your lawn, threatening you if you try to stop them so they can further arm and feed the perp responsible for making your life a living hell. (All they want is a better life, right?) But, they're on your land, and bringing the low-life more weapons... oh, and some food; yeah that's the ticket. They're shouting that they're coming back tonight to kill you and your family. All the compassion, understanding, and opportunity in the world won't keep you and your family from being slaughtered tonight because these trespassers don't hate their own human plight... they HATE YOU! The only thing that will appease them is for you to pack up and move away. The only thing that would make them happier is to see you and your entire family DEAD. What's this got to do with hate mongering or opening your heart?? By the way, quaint as it sounds... we are not 'one people' (Logic has been abandoned by the left.)

Agreed. Sorry for being obtuse. That was my point: how stupidly shallow that old liberal saw is and that trying to reason with a lib is like trying to nail jello to a wall; by definition there's no moral compass involved (which brings us back to Ginsburg) - it invarily depends on how they 'feel' any given day and who hurt their feelings most recently. Actually, Bush was brighter than most all of his detractors and his university grades prove it, but he never let his detractors expectations down - until show time that is, when he usually came out on top much to their dismay. In Texas they call it being 'dumb like a fox'. But it's all lost on the liberal mentality anyway.

I like national defense and expect it from Washington because it is the number one responsibility of the Federal Government to the States. I like a hot dinner, but I can’t find it enumerated anywhere in the Constitution or bill of rights. I’ll gladly pay what’s needed to pay for your defense from your enemies foreign and domestic. I object to subsidizing your sustenance, your color TV, your X-Box, your cell phone or your abortion. #2 – “War based on a lie” is the biggest democrat/liberal cop-out and the only slogan remotely approaching the truth, but patently fails the test of intellectual honesty and integrity so we COULD flatly dismiss it. Instead, I ask you - Who lied to Bush? Do you want to investigate that or would you care for a few suggestions? Was it Powell? Was it the State Department? Was it that rascal Dick Che… oh, wait – you obviously mean BUSH himself lied, right? You can’t even begin to defend that premise without condemning every democrat on the Defense, Intelligence, and Appropriations Committees along with ALL but a hand full of democrats in the house and senate.
