Based on a majority of the comments here, I'd say most people agree with this double standard. If she's an attractive teacher, full steam ahead...no problems with that. If it would have been a female student and male teacher, these same people would be shouting for the death penalty. This double standard does exist in our judicial system, and society as a whole, doesn't seem to have a big problem with it.

This isn't that unusual at all. Severed feet show up on beaches throughout the world. It's also very common to find them in tennis shoes. Why? After months of sitting at the bottom of the the lake or ocean, the body will eventually decompose. When the foot decides to detach from the body, it will float to the surface if they were wearing tennis shoes because of the rubber/buoyancy in them. There has been no evidence in any of these cases to show that someone's foot was cut off or any other foul play. This is actually common knowledge, and I'm surprised KOMO fails to mention it in the story. It almost seems like they want you to think there is a foot fetish felon on the loose.

UMMMM. Maybe she shouldn't have gone out in the first place if she didn't have her own car. Maybe she shouldn't be getting drunk. I don't think it's appropriate for a young mother to be going out. Of course most of you will not consider the possibility that he might just be guilty. The family and a former FBI "has been", claims they think he's innocent because he was a real estate broker....big deal...maybe he used that as a cover so he had an excuse to transfer large sums of money, I'm willing to bet that he could have proven those large transactions were legit, even in a stinking third world cesspool like Nicaragua. I don't have much respect for what the FBI has to say, let alone a former FBI hack. He can't be guilty...he's from SEATTLE!!! Good grief people.
