Who cares if they marry. Also, why would we put the basic rights of a minority to a vote? Many people against this cite the fact that they weren't able to vote on the issue of gay marriage as the reason they are against it. Please....the rest of us for it see right thru that excuse.

Underage people in bars are annoying and a liability to the establishment. So they have to go home at 10pm? Good! Do you know how many times I have been asked to bring drinks back for some random drunk 18 year old at a bar? Nothing but trouble. The reason for this law is because underage people have been abusing these establishments.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : \'Barefoot Bandit\' now a wanted man in Nebraska | KOMO News - Breaking News, Sports, Traffic and We

Actually you can find plenty of decent forested areas, state parks, abandoned farm buildings, groves, etc, in the midwest. It sounds like he operates mostly under the cover of darkness. So if he keeps breaking into homes, stealing vehicles, driving it a couple hundred miles, ditching it, finding shelter to rest and a place to blend in for a few hours of daylight he has a pretty good chance of making it out east if his luck holds. If he drives a car a few hundred miles away and ditches it the vehicle probably won't be found for a couple days. That would give him time to repeat the process and be a step ahead of them everytime. He would almost be smart to double back or dramtically change his direction at this point unless he is going somewhere for a specific reason or deadline.

Don't know if he is necessarily smarter than the police force. I think he is smarter and more elusive than the average criminal and agree that does play a role in him still being at large. However, he has to rely on luck for the most part. I am sure the agencies pursuing him aren't putting near as much heat and effort into capturing him as they are the more violent criminals they are after. The local law enforcement would have to rely on a little luck of their own to locate him driving a stolen car, corner him in a building, etc. Its a game of cat and mouse. Just need a few more cats to catch this mouse. As far as using him to find people in crimes like these....hmmm....not sure how that would work or how trustworthy he would be. Kid like this would most likely try to run if given a little space which the cops would have to do from time to time if they expect him to be cooperative. They tried that with Ted Bundy to give them advice on capturing the Green River Killer and the detectives who tried this later said the tactic did essentially nothing in the capture of Gary Ridgway....in fact they learned more about Bundy himself than anything.

Actually it is hard to say what would actually go down if you run across him on your property while he is stealing....you might not be able to get to your gun in time and just have to call the cops or you do have you gun readily availible....shoot and miss and he just gets away and you still have to call the cops. You may shoot and wound him which leads to his capture due to the severity of the wound. Maybe you wound him and he still gets away, tends to his wounds and continues his trek. Or you might actually kill him in which case he dies an infamous theif and you die someone who nobody but your family and locals remember. Yes if you kill him you will get your five minutes of fame, your name will appear in few paragraphs in the last chapter of the Barefoot Bandits story. Heck, maybe you could even have a no-name actor portray you in the last few scenes of a movie.

I disagree. People come and go from those towns and it isn't hard to make up a quick story that you are from a larger city in the state, tired of the life there, and just passing thru while looking for a job and place to live. He would hardly stick out.

You people who want him to be killed aren't thinking. Paul Newman's character Luke in "Cool Hand Luke" didn't die at the end of the movie while on the run from the law because the writers of the script flipped a coin on if he were to live or to die. He died because its good writing, dramatic, shows that Luke wasn't going to ever do what the law or society wanted. People will eat the Barefoot Bandit's story up even more if it ends with his death. You really want him dead and forgotten? Then you better hope he is captured and starts collecting dust in prison because if he gets killed at the end of the search......his story will live forever.

I have to go along Ballistic362 and NativeBoy69s comments. The kid is living life and if he dies in an attempt to rob well that goes with the territory. I would not fault the home or property owner for defending his property. The people who say they WANT him dead and all that are out of line. I want him captured and looking at a possible life in prison sentence......not killed. He hasn't pulled an armed robbery, attacked another person, ditched a plane or car in a hostile manner. Anyway, if he were killed he would be much more well known than the civilian or lawman who pulls the trigger. In fact his death may even make him MORE famous. People always remember the infamous criminal but never the person who shoots him. How many people could tell you who killed infamous thieves such as Jesse James, Billy the Kid, and Baby Face Nelson? Who can name a single member of the 6 man posse that killed Bonnie and Clyde? Aside from criminal and history buffs....not many.
