I am very very very new to tango, actually! As in: my first lesson was today, haha. Long story short: the friend who set up the lesson and I did a musical together recently and discovered that we make very good dance partners (he had taken more salsa/ballroom/swing, I had done more swing/musical theater partnering, but we worked together really well) and we both expressed an interest in tango, as neither one of us had real experience and would like to try something new together. So he set up the lesson as a semi-surprise birthday present! I really enjoyed the lesson, especially learning to essentially move as one body, if that makes sense, and communicating with your partner using the movement vocabulary. Very cool. I hope we get the chance to attend a class or group, though i hear you on work (and life in general) being intense.

I know it's late in the day, but I would love to hear your journey/what you love about it as well if you have the time :)

Toast! I have not commented in quite some time due to workplace internet restrictions :( but today is my birthday and I took the day off!!! I am going to lunch and then a private tango lesson (!!!) with someone who is very dear to me, and then getting a late happy hour with friends and Mr. bananakarenin. The sun is shining, the dress I'm wearing is the best shade of ocean blue, and I was able to comment on the OT!! I'd post a fun celebratory gif but I literally *just* learned how to do that in gmail, so.

Also, just wanted to say thank you to the Toast for being the best corner of the internet, always :)

I'm not sure I could tell you. My mother actually fought fiercely for him to be a Jonathan.

"He will not be a Robert. There are too many Roberts in this family," she said.

Maybe she knows something the rest of us don't. What would too many Roberts bring? Best not to even come close, lest the prophecy come true.
