Baily, one of my friends runs a *very* small store, and has made a few really nice skirts that she sells mostly on SLX... and she's been copybotted. I'd imagine she's sold less than 300 skirts total. Viral content theft is a horrific epidemic in SL. Every mid to large size content creator I've met in SL has had their content stolen at least once that they know of... and when its been stolen once, chances are its been distributed. There are folders of hair floating around the grid and on SLX, full of stolen hair. Look here's one being paid premium on SLX by "Soft Kidd" a copybot artist, or copybot accomplice and stolen content distributor. https://xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplac... The average SL'er might not be "malicious" but it only takes an uninformed person to re-distribute a folder full of someones hard work for free. And I'm willing to bet that the good majority of people older than 1 year have experienced someone handing them a folder of full perm hair/skins/clothes/animations/gestures/textures/sculpties at least once in their SL experience. so.. TAKE SOME FUCKING RESPONSIBILITY. Ignorance is no excuse, if it seems like its stolen.. ask someone who would recognize it, and dont pass it on until you know. The number of legitimate "full perm" quality products floating around the grid are a small handful when compared to the number of stolen.

The funniest thing is that most "backdrops" people use in photo studios are also pictures acquired from DeviantArt, Google and other image search engines/libraries. And I'd be willing to bet that the good majority were imported into SL without license from the original creator or photographer. Imposing your avatar ontop of said pictures via the SL graphics engine, and taking a picture for your "photography" is literally the same shit in a different box as what is happening here. These pictures are silly, because they look absolutely terrible. Worst 'shops I've ever seen.

omg I saw that shirt and I was like "omg I recognize that shirt" and then I realized it was something I made :/ I've been working on these farking skins for so long that I've forgotten I make clothes. :(
