Can you please elaborate on what you mean by special DFU mode and what kind of a custom restore IPSW I will need to do? So far, I have tried restoring in iTunes to 4.2.1 and 3.1.3 with error messages both times and jailbreaking is unsuccessful every time with redsnow at this point. Thank you.

Hi dhlizard, Thanks for replying to my comment. It wasn't "intentional" at the time it was done. I did not think there was anything wrong with erasing the contents of a jailbroken phone! It was only after it was getting stuck in reboot that I researched the issue and found that it is ill-advised to "erase all contents and settings" on a jailbroken phone. So, in that case it was probably just a lack of knowledge on my part rather than an accident. Anyways, I did not have any SHSH blobs saved on Cydia unfortunately. Do you have any suggestions as to what I could do to fix my phone? Your help is appreciated.

Hi everyone, I accidentally "Erased All Contents and Settings" on my jailbroken iPhone 3G FW 4.2.1 which is also unlocked with the DevTeam tools and had the iPad 6.15 baseband. After "erasing all contents and settings" the phone won't reboot and it keeps showing the Apple logo. I tried jailbreaking it again almost 6 times but it stops halfway through the process and goes back to the Apple logo. I also put the iPhone into DFU mode and tried tto restore it to the 4.2.1 firmware and iTunes keeps giving me an error message. Can someone please help me jailbreak the iPhone 3G and unlock it again? PLEASE HELP. Thanks.

I just want to say that every man or woman on this blog is allowed to post their feelings about the unlock without slandering the hard workers of the Dev Team. we are all just really really tired of waiting and would like to see an unlock soon. I have two iphone 4 paperweights that can't be touched because there is no unlock. Its a free country so people should say what they want but always keep in mind the hard work and effort that is committed by the Devteam despite how long they may take to release this bloody unlock. Thanks all and Merry Xmas.

Hi everyone, I have a iphone 4 on 4.1 2.10.4 baseband. Is there any way to downgrade my baseband or will I have to wait until the devteam releases the new 2.10.4 unlock? Also, I've been hearing news about Apple releasing 4.3 firmware update. Is this true? if it is, what does it mean for the unlocking community on the iphone 4? Thanks to anyone who can help me out.

Hey, I had this issue but was able to work it out. Make sure you select the 4.2.1 firmware when redsnow asks you to select a firmware. DO NOT choose the ipad FW for this step because you will get stuck at "Waiting for Reboot". Also, make sure to check the box that says install ipad FW on the second step. Also, make sure you open redsnow in XP compatibility mode and that you are running it as an administrator. That should fix your problems. Let me know if it works. Thanks.

hey buddy, I wasn't dumb enough to update my phone, I'm very smart and careful about this kind of thing, I tried using sn0breeze to get my 3G on 4.1 unlocked preserving my BB, it didn't work and my phone was bricked, forced to upgrade so I could use my phone as a paperweight since it wouldn't boot so please don't judge, were all grateful, just hoping that we can all have an even better thanksgiving
