Articles : House Res. 1734 Opposes Declaration of a Palestinian State

I'm suprised (and pleased) to announce that my Dem Rep., Emmanuel Cleaver, is on board with us! Here's what I received from him: Thank you for sharing your opposition to "defamation of religions" resolutions proposed in the United Nations (UN). I appreciate hearing from you on this important issue. As you may know, over the past decade, members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), a regional organization comprised of 57 nations with Muslim majority or significant Muslim populations, have annually proposed resolutions in the UN Human Rights Council (UNHCR) calling on UN member states to outlaw the "defamation of religions." When Pakistan presented the resolution in 1999, it was argued that this effort would help prevent the defamation of Islam and thwart unnecessary civil and social strife. Originally termed the "Defamation of Islam," the resolution has since been changed in order to be more inclusive of all religions. Supporters of the "defamation of religions" resolution argue that it discourages racist and controversial sentiment, such as the publishing of twelve cartoons parodying the Prophet Mohammad in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Poste in 2005. However, human rights advocates believe that these measures only justify the restriction of religious freedom and free expression, and provide international legitimacy for existing national laws that punish blasphemy or otherwise ban criticism of a religion. The United States has taken a position opposing this resolution, arguing that the resolution only helps to restrict individual liberty worldwide. As the Co-chair of the International Religious Freedom Caucus, promoting religious freedom around the world is my top priority. Religious freedom is a fundamental human right. Respecting this essential freedom helps to unite communities, discouraging religious extremism and preventing religiously motivated violence. Religious freedom can serve as an essential role to maintaining political stability, promoting social cohesion, and achieving economic prosperity. It is for these reasons that I oppose the "defamation of religions" resolution, and have signed a letter to the member states of the United Nations urging them to oppose this resolution as well. I believe this resolution discourages religious freedom by protecting ideas rather than individuals who hold them. In the past few years, support at the UN for these resolutions has declined. Although a defamation of religions resolution was passed by the UNHCR in March 2010, the resolution received the fewest yes votes and most no votes (including that of the United States) ever cast on this issue in the Council, coming within four votes of defeat. The resolution now awaits consideration by the UN General Assembly. Rest assured I will be closely following this issue, and will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind should the opportunity for further action rise. Rest assured I am closely monitoring this issue, and will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind. Again, thank you for sharing your views with me. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future if I may be of further assistance. Also, I encourage you to visit my website at http://www.house.gov/cleaver, where you can sign up for my electronic newsletter and receive updates on my latest activities as your Representative. Sincerely, Emanuel Cleaver, II - Member of Congress

MMASFY : Panasonic AF100 Storm Brewing.

Interesting thought on this guy. From a fun article - http://www.elskid.com/blog/why-i-want-to-hate-the... - in the comments section: Sam Morgan Moore @Twitter ID Website Reply mass = force times distance as soon as you rig a Panny to a car you have to get serious as soon as you want a stabilser for a panny you cant use a $500 glidecam as soon as you pack it up with some grip you pay excess baggage As soon as the chip goes out of date you throw the whole thing away and cant keep your sound recorder The whole package take the hit of technology depreciation As soon as you want a 20mm FF35 FOV you need a muliti thousand cine lens it still doesnt do raw so will be a pain to match footage across multi cameras and require careful and costly onset monitoring (as a stills guy I can shoot all day on ‘tungsten’ in the sun without buggering up my footage) Sure its is this weeks finest sub $10k ‘large sensor camera’ Sure it is better than this weeks DSLRs But I doubt it will hold that value the future is small, light, raw and modular and ideally FF35 with some crop modes First brand to get that will get more than $2k out of my pocket

Bob, thanks for the vote of confidence! This poor planet needs a lot of help and it's the MMASFY, along with the brave evangelists in all the other mountains of human endeavor (education, politics, science, law, religion and good ol' FAMILY matters), who will fulfill Obadiah 1:21 in partnership with the Savior Himself, First of many brethren, Yeshua, King of the Universe, Lamb slain from before the foundations of the world! I agree! Let's do hard stuff with Yeshua!

  Kingdom Precepts Ministries
: Seven Major Prophetic Signs Of The Second Coming

I agree with most of this - just not that the 10 nation European confederacy is the one to watch. I believe the "union" to watch is within the fast-forming-before-our-eyes 10-nation Islamic confederacy under Turkey! And Turkey is also talking about the "Mahdi" while they're at it! Yikes! Mercy!
