That is a valid point that some may be offered a job closer to the school year, but this doesn't mean they get their same job (or any job they may have been offered for next year). The loss of benefits for many will be huge too!!!

Get rid of the teachers Union, ridiculous, but I'm sure you will get your wish soon enough (I hope that I'm not around when this happens). There are so many things that many don't understand about this process. All information that was passed to the union has been passed to teachers. We were notified every time talk of a change occurred, and when discussions did not occur.

As a new teacher to GRPS this past year, I am most likely one that will recieve a pink slip. The only ones that this is hurting are those that have a passion to teach and the students sitting in those classrooms. Just because GRPS is a supposedly "struggling" district does that mean that these students don't deserve to have continuity?

I was elated to work for GRPS this past year, it was literally a dream come true, but seeing how the teachers are treated like they don't matter by more than enough within the community I don't know that I want to be a part of this (so maybe pink slips are a blessing in disguise).
