I do believe that Causey is a good school. Unfortunately, Mr. Nichols, Mr. Lewis, and Mrs. Woods with their actions and inactions have tarnished that image and should be ashamed of themselves for creating a negative atmosphere for the good personnel still remaining at Causey.

Your understanding is in fact, correct.

You have got to be kidding me, Mr. Nichols! Again, how does one "accidentally expose" themselves in a classroom to a then 11 year old boy. Even if it was an accident (which it wasn't), would you feel comfortable leaving your son/grandson in his class? Whether careless or unintentional, there is no excuse! None of us (as teachers, coaches, or others in a child mentoring capacity) should EVER be changing clothes in front of a child PERIOD! An intelligent person just does not take that risk to begin with. As for the rest of your story, just keep spinning the web. You will eventually get entangled in it and then there will be no escape.

Why do you assume nothing was done? The fact is, the mother reported it and requested that her son be removed from the class. That request was denied. She then hired a lawyer (at her own expense) to submit a formal request of removal . It wasn't until December that the school finally granted the request and the child was removed. The request was made in September and the school did nothing for several months. I think it would appropriate for Mobile County to reimburse her for the lawyer fees. She should have never had to go to such lengths to have her son moved. She also approached the school board and nothing was immediately done. So you tell me how the mother can possibly be to blame.

My apologies family. Thanks family and concerned mother for clarifying. It just seems that every one wants to discredit what is really going on. Only those closest to the children involved can truly relate, right? Let's all make sure we realize how much courage and pains it took for them to come forward. They were brave enough not to just "sweep it under the rug"

Who are you to say I do not know the story? I have direct ties to the story and therefore direct ties to the facts. Your statement is an opinion.

You have a very serious misinterpretation of the actual facts! At the time of the incident, there was no accusations indications of molestation, just a concern about inappropriate conduct (i.e. exposing yourself in the presence of a minor). The parent expressed these concerns and requested the child be relocated to a different class. So it is you that is attempting to slant and fill in the blanks as you see fit. Mr. Nichols is also lying (or maybe I should say misrepresenting or discounting the actual statement made) about the incident in September. There is no "boy accidentally opened the door" scenario. As far as the kids know why the child was moved, you can thank the superintendent for that! The mother was trying to address the situation in a civil and responsible manner and was not taken seriously. The only irresponsibility lies with Mr. Lewis, Mrs. Woods, and Mr. Nichols.

I know the truth, apparenty you do not!

The school may be great but unfortunately one or two bad apples can spoil the bunch (I am certainly not saying anything about anyone except those directly responsible). I'm sorry but how does one "forget" a complaint of inappropriate "sexually related" conduct involving a minor and a teacher. It was not a jilted lover, ex spouse, or anyone with a grudge but a STUDENT with absolutely nothing to gain but pain for his choice to do what is right. People make mistakes but all of us are accountable for our mistakes. This is what we teach our children and should also live by. Mrs. Woods does an excellent job, at what, lying? Her "sweep it under the rug attitude" prompted a parent to contact Barton Academy which still did not address the issue and now we have a even more tragic situation.

Mr. Nichols, how in the world can you justify "accidental" exposure? Mr. Lewis admitted that he "accidentally" exposed himself. A teacher or anyone in a child mentoring capacity, should never "change clothes" in front of a minor, PERIOD. I am certainly not one who condones a witch hunt, however, the facts have spoken for themselves and I am speaking on behalf of the mother and son who have had to go through this most uncomfortable and unfortunate circumstance. Now, something worse has surfaced. Another child now appears to be a victim of something even worse. What is even worse, is the fact that the "Principal" denied that any complaints had been filed. With an absolute lie, how can either of you be trusted with the best interest of the children in the Mobile County Public School system?
