HGTV Design Star : Dooce’s Recap: I Think It's Going to Screw Him in the End

For the last two weeks at least, I've tuned in to watch Design Star, but had to check the channel because I was sure I'd tuned in to Big Brother or Survivor, by mistake. I'm sure the reason is a desire for higher ratings, but I'd prefer to see the work of each designer, in his/her own vignette, at least a few times during the season. Right now, I haven't a clue as to what each designer is about. And, given the way Alex was eliminated tonight, HGTV could save a lot of money on judges salaries: it seemed that his two teammates "voted Alex off the island" and the judges just went along with it. Is HGTV really going the way of Bravo and switching from challenging program to cat and/or dog fights? How I long for season one's format, again.
