It reminds me of when my friends gay men's group held their retreat in a rural campground near a known KKK stronghold. It went fine, they got a little hostility but 70+ people showed up and I think that sent a message. But I suppose other people may feel differently. I found the Toast when I was doing an internship (great!) in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere (terrible!) and living with a weird roommate and the streets of the town rolled up at 6:30 so I spent my evenings on the internet.
