The professor says "she doesn't consider many of the entries valid art." If I'm not mistaken, paper airplanes are technically origami, an ancient art form of folding paper. I recall a story about an artist displaying, among other exhibits, a typical hardware store wooden step ladder with one nail partially driven in and a hammer. A young man who could also be called artist was fascinated with the piece, climbed the ladder and drove the nail the rest of the way in. Sometimes the art that moves us the most is the most simple. Any event that can bring 20,000 Grand Rapidians together must have some value. I was there this year and look forward to next year. The proof is in the pudding (or frosting as someone mentioned earlier)
