Would the police think about booking you in jail because you caused a fatal ACCIDENT? Not likely unless there was alcohol or drugs involved. If you cause someone to die in an accident you will live with the guilt for the rest of your life, should you have your driving privileges revoked? You knew the rules of the road - even took a driving test to prove that you knew what you were doing but you caused someone else to die. If the charge sticks - Manslaughter and the man is not charged with anything more it means that this was truly an accident. No texting or talking on your cell phone while you are in the car. I have a 13 yr old and a 15 yr old and we made the rule so that when they start driving they will not be in the habit of txting and talking on the phone while in a moving vehicle. I live in Shelton and am not afraid to walk down my road, go into town, hike in the woods with my teenage daughters w/o my husband present etc etc. One of my daughters attends the high school and the other attends the middle school and they are both caucasian. They both have friends of all races and tell me that everybody gets along w/o seeing color. Now, with that said... let me tell you that we just moved from Federal Way a year ago where my daughter was being picked on for being in the minority (yes, you read that right.. my caucasian daughter was being picked on for being in the minority.) I wouldn't let the kids walk around the neighborhood and we didn't really go to the mall or anything like that unless my husband was with us.
