Why Allied bombing destroyed so many civilian buildings in Germany? And why most of buildings were preserved on the territory, where the Soviet troops spent? So to have "MOPPED UP" the last few groups of the German solders inside buildings by bombing them, and American infantry can advance to our next position easier. Great tactic!! Do not you know?
Arrive to Berlin! That memory is stored in the buildings in the center of Berlin still! There were apartment houses there where just now a huge space is in the heart of Berlin due to those wonderful bombings! And people could live just now there..
Yes, I think Stalin was worse of Hitler,
but I think another way about the main task of American Army.
The main task of Allies was to avoid a “Communist Leprosy” in Europe. "Second Front" fought for maintenance of democracy in Europe, first of all!!! And as fast as it would open the more part of European territory would be saved! So the United States helped UK and France to defend the independence and democracy in the half of Europe. “Low bow” for execution of task to all Soldiers of Allies!!

You have forgotten.. And Napoleon was stopped by Russian Frost and Starve –due to of Russian partisan methods.. Not be discounted in the time of WWII so much depends on weather conditions as well (because infantry with tank+ artillery made occupation).
I do not think that the Soviet army would lose WWII. Time until Win could be longer.

I do not want to be rude, but most part of you do not know how - to survive in a country with constant hunger. The Soviet people were scared by repressions (I have two grandfathers and one grandmother, which were killed in 1933 and 1937). That is why Soviet people were afraid to be “public enemy” or the children of enemies. BUT there is paradox; they survived with perverted enthusiasm and a fanatic belief in Stalin (recollect of George Orwell "1984").
During the WWII, often officers were forced to rise up of soldiers to attack by shout dirty and to fire a round. “Nobody can not win Nation which have nothing to lose " – such I can paraphrase Machiavelli, and you all know it's true.
American help in materiel has been a great, but Soviet Army could have survived by themselves. That would be only "Winning on the bones"! Anyway it is sadly.
