I am sorry to hear that happened to you. I am at odds to give it thumbs up, only because that is awful, but glad you and all survived. Good skills on your part saved lives.

There are specific laws for that kind of thing. Next you will say "what if I want to marry my dog" which is beyond the discussion. Opponents to rights always have to twist everything to make their point, which is generally invalid since it involves curtailing someone else's rights.

I don't like to jump to conclusions or make knee jerk reactions, but... Dead, I want him dead. No other reaction is even possible in my mind. I feel physically ill reading what happened to her. If he is not put to death like a dog (why are we humane to those who have no humanity?) then I hope she haunts his sorry butt until he offs himself.

Yep, Mexico needs to take care of their own. If you see the population boom from other races, what the statistics don't really tell you is that the boom is in the poorer areas of the US. Time and again, we see that the more education a women have, the fewer children they seem to have. This means that the growth swell will be from folks who either don't have decent access to education or don't value it and whichever it is, we may end up just like Mexico with a huge lower class and then the super rich (the 1% you keep hearing about.) Seriously, we need to stem the flow of illegals into the country.
If employers feel the need to bring some in for harvesting crops they are so sure that legal citizens won't do at the same rate, then carefully bring them in and keep track of them and then make sure they go back again and be responsible for them while they are here. The general taxpayer should not have to carry the welfare system for illegals while breaking their backs and slowly going broke.

Got news flash for you, illegals don't bother with insurance NOW. I was a licensed agent and can tell you this is the reason your rates are so high. They can some here and get a license and all. Once they have a license, they can apply for state welfare. If you cut this off now, it will stem the flow of illegals into our state and we will see some of our rates relax a bit.

Tell that to Superman and Lois Lane or Spiderman/Peter Parker and MaryJane. Weddings sell in comic books. Maybe it has been a while since you read them, but they have always been a hotbed of social issues. From spousal or child abuse to politics to racial issues, they are actually at the forefront. And romance has been a big part of a good chunk of comics. I remember being pretty firmly into the whole triangle with Cyclops/Jean Grey and Wolverine.

100 thumbs up. This. People who know nothing of the comic book world need not comment. The person above who wants to suddenly ban comic books for her kids, clearly never read them. Marvel and DC both have tackled issues that are hardly "kids" topics but kept it at a level that made it a bit more "acceptable" the way Star Trek did.

I also think it is funny that people think being openly gay is about sex. Sex and sexual orientation are 2 different things. Does that mean that showing romance or marriage between two straight people is just about sex? Gay people just don't want to have to hide who they love, they are not requesting to have public sex or recruit. Goodness, I am proud of Marvel!

No, as population increases and we have 24/7 media outlets, we hear of more. But statistically speaking, it has NOT increased. The perception of increase is just due to there being more coverage. Once upon a time, you would not have heard about this incident- it is not in your neighborhood and not about people you know, there has no bearing or impact on your life. But humans seem to like hearing about the salacious, tabloid style stories, so that is what the media presents us. Believe me, every generation since time started says "things are going to hell in a handbasket."

Oh good gravy, and this is important exactly how? I am not a huge country music fan, but I know the lady is a legend and married at 13 or 15, that is still pretty dang young and within development for a girl may have made no difference. Leave her alone, you media vultures!

There is not one comment I can think of that won't come out sounding wrong even though it would not be my intent. Except this, The other races are no longer minorities, they are the majority. Obvious? Yes, but it is an important thing to note.
