I think that this guy/girl what ever he/she wants to be called lol has a lot of issues. Its mind boggling for people to attempt to change their sex. It makes NO sense. What ever issue he or she has will not be fix by changing your identity. Its almost like the ultimate way out of being depressed or not liking your self. To actually change your sex. Its freaking crazy. On the argument on whether he or she should have been fired for telling the employer that is a different situation. I think its completely up to the employer. They probably feel as if they where lied too. If you spend time reading someone resume, bringing them in for an interview, talking to them. You hire a person in mind… the person you think you somewhat knew. That’s why you hired them because they are a specific person. The boss who fired him or her probably did it because she felt like she was lied to. She probably feels like she doesn’t really know the real person. People should have to tell the employer something like that and yes its going to cause issues for the transgender person but so be it. They can not decide who they are. What about the bathroom what bathroom sex does he or she go to.. This world is honestly ridiculous that someone can deny who they are. You are born a certain race and you cant do anything about that. You have to just accept it and live your life the best way you can. I bet you that transgender person doesn’t completely feel comfortable as a man maybe he or she feels a liitle more comfortable but he or she knows who they are. And they know others cant. Transgender people are so messed up in the head its sad.

intoxication, or its common name botulism, originates as a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum, which infects people as a toxin named Botulinum. Botulinum is the deadliest known toxin to humankind. This toxin causes paralytic illness, which means a paralysis of muscles and tissues occurs. This may cause respiratory failure, which is the leading cause of death by those who are infected by this bacterium. However, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) states, “In the past 50 years the proportion of patients with botulism who die has fallen from about 50% to 3-5%” (2011, para.7). This is due to the advancement of technology and patent access to ventilators. The CDC explains that symptoms of botulism includes double vision, blurred vision, drooping eyelids, slurred speech, difficulty swallowing, dry mouth, and muscle weakness. Although rare, some patients who are severely infected by botulism may have to endure many years of therapy to treat fatigue and shortness of breath (CDC, 2011). People become infected by ingestion of the toxin, by exposed wounds, by bacterium spores, and by accidental overdose of the botulinum toxin (very rare). Adults are primarily infected by consuming the bacterium through food. Botulism usually occurs in adults when homemade canned food is done improperly. These foods have a low acid content when they are in anaerobic conditions, which do not let oxygen in. Most people think that concealed food is safe because it does not let in little oxygen. However, a complete lack of oxygen and improper handling in some situations leads food to develop botulinum; “Botulinum grow best in low oxygen conditions” (CDC, 2011, para.2). The CDC estimates that 15 percent of all botulism cases are from eating contaminated food. Vegetables such as asparagus, green beans, beets, and corn are the leading foods that are mishandled and become infected with this disease. Twenty percent of people who are infected by botulism every year contract the bacterium through wounds.
The population most susceptible to contracting this disease is infants between the ages of 6 weeks and 1 year (CDC, 2011). Sixty-five percent of botulium cases involve infants (CDC, 2011). Although infants are unable to eat “adult foods,” they acquire botulism through bacterium spores. Clostridium botulinum, the bacterium, comes from soil, so it is often in the air in the form of dust and dirt. This bacterium enters the infant while he or she breathes. The bacterium forms spores that enable the bacteria to survive, once it is in an environment that allows the spores to grow, such as the immature digestive system of infants. The bacterium evolves, proliferates, and creates the botulinum toxin. Honey is considered to be a major source of the dormant bacteria (CDC, 2011).

I think the issue on whether gays should or should not be allowed to marry is a pointless one. That’s ask hour self the only question that is worth being asked the question that itself, is against gays marrying. It is not about what marriage is. Is it not about whether 2 people are able to love a child. It is clear that gay parents can love their children as much as any parent, that is not the question in question. The question that we must ask ourselves is this. Does God want or allow gays to marry? That is pretty much the reason why there is a fight and attempt to stop gays from marrying. People who are against gays marrying and parenting children are those with strong religious beliefs. They do not believe gays should get marry. I believe gays should be allowed to do what they want. They do not agree with God. The God of the Bible (which is what most Americans follow) only wants to people who does what he wants to follow him. Secular people are secualar the only wants to people who does what he wants to follow him. Secular people are secualar the either don’t believe or want to change what the Bible says. The Bible forbids homosexuality but that’s OK though. If you want to be gay its your life and you have that free will to be a gay parent. However, dont attempt to act is if God is fine with your decision because from what the Bible says he is not. But its not about God its about you. If that’s what you want to do then go ahead and do it. People who fight against gay parents that do it from a religious stance ( which is most of them) should not fight against it. Gays like any sinner is not doing Gods will thus will not reep his reward

15 years ago @ World In Conversation - Stranger Kidnapping · 0 replies · +1 points

I completely disagree with the agreement that was written. “ The best thing we can do is to tell our kids to talk to strangers” that is without a doubt one of the dumbest things I have ever heard someone say. That child was almost litteraly almost grabbed and stolen but that man. That man was an aggressive kidnapper. Im sure a lot of kidnappers are much more passive and aren’t as bold to grab a child like that in public daylight, inviting children to go talk with strangers would allow more kidnappers to feel slightly more comfortable in nabbing a child. The odds of being kidnapped are “small” says who? Statistics? If I told a room of 1000 people someone in this room will die in 2 min. Statistics say that those odds of that person being that 1 indidual who is dies is “smaill” but would you want to be in that room. The answer is of course no. Why? Its because you want the smallest amount of odds of being harmed which means to us as individuals, I want my odds as close to zero as possible. Even though the statistics on kidnapping or “small” doing something that makes that numbers rise any amount would be a horrible decision. There are so many crooked and shady people in this world, we as a society must protect our kids. We should put a large emphasis on this. What ever the child kidnapping numbers are we should strategies to make that number nomatter who “small” it already is to be even smaller. However, that attempted kid napper shows how bold criminals are getting. To honestly attempt to snatch a child in such manner shows you obviously have no respect for the child or his/her welfare but you also don’t really care about laws and the punishment for breaking these laws. The man was smiling away as he nonchnotley walked, not ran, but walked away from a crime. That entire video was just sad. At least the nanny was there and protected the child and saved the day. What if she was on her phone and the child was walking just a few more feet behind her?? That would have been horrible. Thank God that child is safe..

Well I really don’t know. To me, he seems like an average guy. So since hes white he seems like an average “white guy” he was trying to explain a brand or maybe promote or even sell this odd gun holder. I think if you are someone who want s to carry a gun then he informed you well on his product. I feel the problem comes not from anything he did, but from the question. We attempt to label people in a way that says this is exactly how everyone in that society acts. This is done by the media. They sell us on how people or certain races acts and we accept this. They stereotype Blacks as violent, thuggish people that are uneducated ; Whites as being educated, socially awkward, Asians as smart and quiet and so on. These stereotypes put a blind fold in front of our faces because the truth of the matter is people are only people. We are individuals that. We should not bound each other by race. We shouldn’t have a pre-conceive mindset that this is how a race acts. A race of people is made up of millions of individuals how can we say this is how a race acts if people in general are all unique. We wouldn’t. But through the media ie movies, music videos, commericials, and even cartoons if we see a certain race acting a certain we then we take fiction which we watch on t.v. and say well, this must be how the entire race acts. If we just spend 2 minutes thinking about this we will see that there is no way to act white or black or any other race. The media is messing with all of our minds and we are to lazy to attempt to figure out what is what. Open your eyes people! Stop walking like sheep and letting the media take over your minds. I think anyone that thinks that guy was acting white should take a break from watching t.v. and just watch less t.v. and give there mind an opportunity to open and be free from the chains and darkness we are all constrained with.

15 years ago @ World In Conversation - Empathy Might Be Our N... · 0 replies · +1 points

I agree with what he said about empathy. Empathy is what allows us to feel for one another. Empathy lets us relate to one another. It allows us to be caring and loving with each other. It seems to me like the world like the media is attempting to change our cognitive way of thinking. The world promotes me, myself, and I. which is pretty much the opposite of empathy. People who commit horrific crimes like multiple rapes, sexual assaults, murder, have said they don’t feel for their victim, Its almost is if they are simple scratching there leg. They have no sense of I’m hurting someone maybe I should stop. Even kids who kill and torture animals have the same weird thinking. They are usually the ones who become serial killers or rapist anyways. God put sympathy in us. I think he put it in us to keep us grounded and so we never leave another human or living thing behind, so we would help each other when we saw something burdening one another. I think people that are the coldest or even most evil or those who simple don’t care about other people. They do not have a sense of compassion. They live there life only perusing their own goals and ambitions. That’s actually pretty evil if you think about it. We all should love and care for one another. We should treat others with the same care and love we want them to treat us with. We should feel something inside when we see someone on the street sitting on the sidewalk crying. And I think most of us do. However, the media is attempting to change us and turn us apathetic towards each other. And the man in the video said he didn’t know whether dogs have sympathy. I think dogs do because I saw this video of a dog that got hit by a car on the highway and just laid motionless there. No cars stopped. The dog was literally lying down motionless in the middle of a busy high way. Then out of nowhere another dog appeared and pulled the injured dog to safety. That was an amazing video. I think that proves dogs do have sympathy. At least that dog does.

15 years ago @ World In Conversation - Conformity Rules the Day · 0 replies · +1 points

Humans naturally feel the need to confirm to society because we in essence don t wont to be different we wont to be individuals but we do not want to be odd. Or looked at at werid. We are borrn this way and society reinforces this by making rules that make it more acceptable to be like the group. We as Americans are individuals and we are different but what makes us great is that we are very innovative. We attempt to create and think outside the box. We do this more than any other society our society is built on innovation. Although society is we still fee the need to fall into line and be just like everyone else this is not a good thing or a bad thing it is just being human. But for an individual to be truly special I believe they have to be un common and not be like the majority. They must not be afraid of ridicule or persection for being different . and many people who do want ot be un common do not want to receive the negative attributes that comes with truly being a simple person. Those students are as free as every other student in high schools throughout the country. Today in America we sell sex. A lot. Sex is almost promoted amongst pre teens and adolescents. Sex education is taught less frequently. Paretnts leave it up to the schools to teach and inform their kids about sex we in society act like sex is “just sex” and it doesn’t mean anything. I think back in the day young ppl where having sex but it wasn’t as prevalent. I think most ppl wanted to have sex but would rather stick to one mate and pple had the idea like if I have sex and have a kid then we have to get married. There was a disgrace brought upon ones head to have a child outside of marriage. However, now adays its almost nothing. There isn’t that negative stereotype so females are “in charge” of their sexually and they have sex just like men do. With no regard for the future consequences of anything. In this case these teens most likely do not have the means to buy and afford birth control. So they are left with only condoms at protection and well you know… guys don’t always like wearing a “mask.” So now there is a very high number of teen pregnancy especially in the inner city communities. I think in middle class and upper class societys teens are having sex at the same rate but there is a lower case of pregnancy because these teens have the means to afford birth control are even abortions. If it comes to that. I feel like a large problem that ppl don’t talk about or just feel uncomfortable talking about is the idea of sexually transmitted infections. STD’s. the rate for std’s is probably so high that if we actually know the number of ppl that had an STD everyone would be so freaked out. Well maybe not right…because everyone has one or at least everyone will get one sooner or later. So Its like, join the club because everyone has one so just have sex freely. And whatever happens negatively whether you contract an STD or get someone pregnant it doesn’t really matter.

I think people are inclined to hang around their own race for a few reasons. The first reason being a lot of Asians are forced to stay and socialize in their own groups. There are many Asians who are forced to stay in there clicks because they do not speak the language. They don’t speak English so they are forced to stay with other people who also don’t speak English. In essence their more likely to hang around people that speak that language because they will be more comfortable. I think whites, black, and hispanics mostly hang around their own race because they feel more comfortable around them. They probably grew up around people who where mostly their race so they feel more at ease with people that are like them. I think its just a comfortable or at ease thing. However I feel like my situation is a lil bit different because I grew up in an all black family. It was my mom, grandmom, sister, and brother for most of my life. I grew up in a mostly white highschool. Na actually my highschool was kind of mixed the more I look at it. I started college at Penn State Branywine which was a mostly white college. Brandywine had about three thousand students. And I had mostly black friends. I mean yes I did also hang out with a good number of whites but a majority of my friends where black. However, when I came up to Penn State University which is about 75 to 80 percent white I recognized most if not all of my friends where white. I came up to U park my sophomore year of college. And most of my friends where white that was cool but I was just like wow im kind of surprised that a majority of my friends where white. I grew up around mostly black people but most of my friends are white up here. I don’t really know why.

To me being free means a number of things. The first meaning the ability to do acts you enjoy doing that doesn’t hurt anyone else.. But then some people would say how does growing my own weed and smoking it in my house hurting anyone? Why isn’t that legal. So freedom must mean the ability to do anything you want that the government allows, or dubs as safe that you enjoy. So the question lye’s still, What does it mean to be free. I believe freedom is just a word made up by humans that allows us to believe we have more power than we think we have. In reality no one is free. We are all bounded by the rules and strings that govern ur acts. Although we believe we are doing actions that we ourselves want to do and although we, as Americans, are MORE for than others around the world. Americans have more leeway then a lot of other places. We are able to do a higher number of acts without penalty from the government. For example, In some countries like North Korea if a citizen talks negatively about the government that person will be subject to be punished by the law. This punishment may be a fine, jail time, or even death. However, here in America some can go to Washington D.C. and protest as much as they want against the president Obama, and all of this is well within that Americans right. So it’s not that we are “free” in this country ( or any other) but it is simply that we have a longer leash, so to speak. I am happy to live I n America because I feel that there is a greater opportunity to succeed and for someone to follow any dream that they have. The greatest freedom that we have in this country, is the freedom to practice any religion one wants. Many counties do not let people practice religion freely. In fact some countries may imprison or even kill its citizen if they attempt to practice a religion the government doesn’t approve .
