Before the game we all said we had no pace, no width, no creativity. Our two most creative players in lansbury and morrison left off the bench.. BUT the biggest problem is the captain. Since he has come back into the team we are accommodating him no matter what - the whole team fits around him, and he doesn't contribute at all in games. I can't see maynard being able to that today - i hope im wrong. remember the games with 10 men, cole was quite brilliant - as if two men, and that was the major reason we coped with being a man down - people tend to forget these things. yes he hasn't scored enough - but look at the supply. He doesn't have pace. He doesn't put good balls into the box. He doesn't run around using his physicality - as he doesn't have any physicality, what is the point of him? I'm afraid I feel he is the poor man's version of Taylor. Taylor can whip a good ball in though but he can't go past players as a winger should, and is not the best in defense- he also has little pace. This is, and always has been our biggest problem all season - no wingers. Vaz Te on the wing is perhaps an answer - we also miss trickery in midfield - Morrison has to start at home.
