West Ham Till I Die : A Message to WHTID Readers from David Sullivan

Agree wholeheartedly with the postings asking why fans boo their team. How is this supposed to motivate the players? Why do some fans behave like this? Its interesting that this mainly occurs at home matches. Whenever I go to away matches whatever the score or performance we support the players often with great humor not barrack them. It makes me despair.

West Ham Till I Die : Who Should Play in Goal Against Palace?

It's definitely only a one match ban so no need to panic. See this link to the FA website. http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/~/link.aspx?_id=D6CA03...

When you think of it we should not be having this discussion. For a club who's top of the league and yet we haven't got an automatic second choice goalkeeper - its scandalous. Our defensive cover especially full backs isn't much better either. Yet we have far too many attackers. The balance is all wrong. This should have been sorted out long ago. I feel sorry for Stech - what he must think of the situation God only knows. It certainly won't give him any confidence so on that basis Boffin should play. .

West Ham Till I Die : Vote: Player Performances v Blackpool

I had the luck to be at the match last night. Keeping with the Blackpool theme it certainly was a roller coaster. The first half we were definitely in charge playing some great football. With the chances we had 4-0 would have been a reasonable reflection on our dominance. When we conceded on their first meaningful attack just on half time a few of us thought that would give them a lift especially with Holloway's half time talk. Blackpool came out strongly in the second half and were causing us problems. When Green got sent off and with no recognized goalkeeper on the bench I thought a draw would be a good result. We dug in and worked our socks off and Blackpool failed to put Lansbury under any real pressure. All players contributed but a special mention to Noble who looked completely knackered at the end and no wonder he covered every blade of grass, was vocal to his team mates and was man of the match in every sense of the word. Nolan cannot be captain again. There was an incident towards the end where Vaz Te was feigning injury to waste time and Noble went over to him and obviously told him we'd be better off playing than mucking about. Vaz Te did the same very near the end and then Carlton Cole dragged him to his feet. If I was little disappointed in any player it was Vaz Te. Yes he scored but his overall work rate was disappointing. he obviously has talent but he needs to be more of a team player. A great night and the crowd were great. We're that good we even predicted when the team would score. 'We're going to score in a minute' rang out just before Tomkins scored!! The headline in the Blackpool local paper today reads 'Well and truly Hammered' which nicely sums up our performance.

Well said Shropshire I was embarrassed to be a West Ham fan with that unnecessary outburst. Couldn't they save their voices to support their team. Shropshire also nails the performance. Jekyll and Hide without a doubt. Dreadful in the first half - thank god for what they put in the tea at half time!!. CC made all the difference. Carew I'm afraid was like a statue. I disagree regarding Diop who I thought did OK. Nolan for sure is still playing football in Newcastle because he's not giving his all for the Hammers.

I agree with BJNambia. Clearly bringing in Almunia means our reserve goalkeepers are no good in which case why wasn't action taken during the summer to address this issue. This smacks of very bad management which could have serious repercussions over the period Green is out. I understand Almunia has hardly played this season so presumably we will be playing 10 across the park today!!.

West Ham Till I Die : Green Fit for the Portsmouth Match?

We should keep CC in the hope that Big Sam will improve his strike rate. Is it just me but are others worried about the lack of new signings? We were promised two PL quality players 'within 24 hours' and only Nolan appeared. We have released nearly a team of players (good and bad) and have yet to recruit anything like the numbers we need for an arduous campaign which starts in less than 4 weeks. Yes we have a few youngsters waiting in the wings but a lot of these are unproven and in the case of say Nouble have yet to set the world alight when on loan. They need to announce some good signings soon or we will be in trouble especially if Parker and Co decide not to stay. No wonder they have extended the date for season ticket sales as I'm sure people are waiting for good news on players before committing their hard earnt money.

West Ham Till I Die : Should Tony Carr Be Our Next Manager?

Whilst I agree that we need to bring the fans opinion to the attention of the board I don't agree that the next manager should be a 'West Ham' appointment. Surely we need to hire the best person available in the marketplace regardless of his background. He can then decide how we must play and what players we need to get us back where we belong. For sure pretty football will not get us there.

West Ham Till I Die : Vote: Player Performances v Aston Villa

Just watched it live on Sky Italia. It was cruel to loose a goal in added time. But if you took a step back Villa always looked the more threatening and if it wasn’t for Green we would have been down and out long before that. In comparison Friedal had an easy afternoon. Again our defending wasn’t that great especially for the first goal with Noble thinking he could dribble out of the area and Bridge standing back to admire Bent’s header. Not sure why Obinna was subbed as he didn’t have a bad game and Hines wasn’t the obvious replacement. With the other results in we perhaps still have a chance albeit a very slim one.

West Ham Till I Die : Vote: Player Performances v Bolton

I'm back home after watching the match, so early as I live in Cheshire. I pity the poor souls who travelled up fom London to watch that performance. The defending was not existent. We made Sturridge in particular look world class. The 4-3-3 setup and the players picked for the forward line was wrong. They were coming at us in waves and you could sense the frustration when Noble and Green had a handbag incident in the first half. Parker was again below par and went off late in the second half, hopefully with nothing serious because by God we need him. After the half time subs (Cole and Jacobson) we played better no doubt due to Bolton taking their foor of the pedal, there was going to be no WBA comeback here. I don't see anything in the last two performances that give me hope that we will survive.

West Ham Till I Die : Vote: Blackburn v West Ham Player Performances

Me and the wife made the trip north to watch this game. Boy was it cold but I must say that it was a previledge to be with the 1500 fans who also braved the elements. As always we outsung the home fans and with great humour. If the team was as good as the fans then it would be Europe and not relegation we would be talking about. I was watching the warm up and saw Behrami go down and was disapointed to see that no coaching staff went to his aid, he just stood there looking dejected - surely we can do better than that. It was a very poor game with the draw a fair result. Even our fans acknowledged it was rubbish singing 'it is like watching paint dry' very sharp given the sponsors of Blackburn. As others have said Grant should have seen how the game was developing with Blackburn not reallly threatening and made the necessary changes. Again it wasn't him on the touchline encouraging the players it was Wally. How much longer can Grant last results or not. Best players for me were Tompkins and Parker. Barrera is not a premiership player, was at fault for the Blackburn goal and is knocked off the ball far too easily. A change of manager and some quality players might save us but I doubt it. But the least I like to see is some fight (Parker x 10 please!!) so at least we can say we tried.
