The statement wasn't that the weapon was pointed at the police but rather in the general direction. Fact is that neither you nor I know the true circumstances other than there appear to be numerous character witnesses for the poor guy. I'm sure that you will go to the trouble of requesting the police report and determining its veracity before jumping to further conclusions. And BTW, if you think that everything written in police reports is 100% factual, I have a bridge in Brooklyn you may have some interest in.
