As usual if KOMO can post something negative about pitbulls they do. Notice EVERY other news site that published this story chose to include the facts about the breeds of the dogs. here is the link to King 5's story which not only includes the info on the two dogs, but also pictures. Unless there's a new shaggy pitbull I don't know about, these two don't qualify... Way to talk out your a** bodog and woodinville...

to those who think other dogs don't bite or kill check out the link attached. There are 30 different stories about dogs that attakced and killed/maimed someone and none of these dogs were pitbulls.

actually you're wrong. There was an attack last year by a lab at magnuson that killed a puppy last year. The year before that two labradoodles did the same thing. The woman who's puppy was killed tried to get the media to do a story about it and they said it wasn't news worthy.

And try and use a site NOT run by a lawyer that has been fighting for bans and suing owners for years. Try the CDC, AVMA,or another NON BIASED source and you might get apb owners to listen.

because part of the issue is the rules are already in place in almost every city in King County relating to dangerous dogs. Yet they have NO TEETH. There is no fine for a dog that bites or harms someone in Bothell or any where in King County. There are only a handfull of animal control officers that cover the the whole county.(170+ square miles)

Pitbull owners want laws to match the problem not fear based, media rationed propaganda. You don't hear about the other dog attacks on the local news channels but there are other dogs that have attacked and killed at Magnuson Park and there are other dogs that have caused injuries in the last couple of days. There were just two Great Dane attacks yesterday reported. Don't believe me look up Google, Great Dane and attack. You'll find them.

Gee what you describe INtolerance is bite inhibition and it a trainable trait. My pitbull has no problem with ANYONE even my 4 year old son taking anything out of her mouth. BECAUSE she was trained that way. Ask anyone who owns a trained pitbull and they will tell you the most dangerous part of their dog is it's tail.

Yakima, Denver, the UK, parts of Canada, Australia and the Netherlands, not to mention other cities in the US have Bans and their bite stats have not been reduced. The laws that allow for enforcement and fines are the ones that work. Bothell has a dangerous dog law, that only takes away a dog and puts it down when it bites. How about a $500 penalty for a dog loose, biting or acting aggressive in ANY breed?

The other issue is you are not even hearing about the other attacks at Magnuson Park. There was a puppy killed last year there by a lab and another dog was killed the year before by two labradoodles. It's not the breed that's the issue, it's the dog and the owners. Under the Calgary bylaws, the idiot that sicked his dogs on the ones he did at Magnuson would have been fined and lost the dogs.

dogsbite.org website is run by a woman that has a personal vendatta towards pitbulls. The facts stated on that site are not backed by legitimate studies. The pictures are real, but there are MANY APB owners that stand up for the breed, PAY their taxes, license their dogs and train them to be great stewards for the breed. Not even half of these dogs are owned by people who fit the description you suggest.
There are two leagues of pitbulls. The ones that are left out like someone said to lunge at fences, bark all night and run the streets, and the dogs that are family pets that are socialized with other pets, kids and people. These dogs live and die without any problems EVER.
If you want to look at websites that have accurate information try to look at websites that are not biased one way or the other. The AVMA and CDC both have information about dog bite statistics and fatalities.
Both nonpartial groups have stated that breed specific legislation DOES NOT work!

I agree with part of what you are saying, but if you have a dog that has a heightened prey instinct there is a better probability of them turning on a smaller dog. Especially if it is being a nuisance.

That is to say not all pit bulls have a heightened sense of agitation though. Many pitbulls will take the same stance as your dogs. It all depends on the training.

learn how to make a complete statement that makes sense before commenting on anything. NONEONE should be no one, everyweek should be every week. And what paper are you reading that has a pitbull attack every week? I haven't seen it and I do follow these things.

The reason pitbull advocates oppose bans by breed is they DON'T work to stop the problem people that have the pitbull game dogs(attention to aggression is bred into these dogs) , vs the family pit (bred for good manners, get along with pets, kids etc). It's like going down to China town and targeting two Asian people because they look alike. One could be from Laos, another from Vietnam.
