KY3 : Schools in the Ozarks were on high alert during storm | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - Springfield, MO

Thankful the Sparta superintendent and principals were on top of the weather having a small tornado so close to the school. Still wondering why the city never set off their tornado siren. I guess they weren't open for business yet.

KY3 : Animal control officers stay busy in brutally cold weather | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - Springfield

Not all homeless people can seek shelter when some shelters are only open from 7 am - 5 pm and then are closed for the remainder of the night. Not all homeless people can seek shelter when the city doesn't have enough room for them at shelters that are open overnight. They wouldn't want too many human lives safely in a building because it might break one of their codes. But heaven forbid some dog (dogs have lived outdoors for thousands of years in all sorts of weather and are not yet extinct) has no straw in it's doghouse, then they are all over that. By the way, my dog, who lives outdoors, is smart enough to seek shelter on his own when he's cold as well as find a place to cool himself when it's hot.

It's amazing that people in Springfield are worried enough about their neighbor's dog to call animal control, but the city will not take care of homeless people including children. I don't understand, but then again, I don't have a government agency mindset which can't see the obvious. Common sense is not common at all around here.
