This disturbing desire to talk about the sexual assault of minors whenever gay issues arise is mind-boggling. Science has shown that LGBTs are slightly less likely to abuse than straight-identified individuals and yet, somehow, these anti-gay people still want to immediately talk about sexual assault.

Why do people conflate the two? Do they want to lie just to harm people or is there some other subconscious reason to do this and talk about such graphic things?

Heads of big organizations with lots of money and followers shouldn't be used to give legitimacy to an issue? I see.

We'll get the Vatican and Southern Baptist Convention on the phone so you can tell them how that works. :)

Go ahead, who should we cut? List actual positions. You'll get some teachers in there, some state law enforcement and certainly more than a few corrections officers. All the relevant documentation of state staffing is up on Access Washington. Pick your pink slips.

That's 1 state worker serving 63 Washingtonians and these aren't simple service jobs. Most of these have a caseload and full workdays. By the time we hit 2020, if we continue at this pace, it will be 1 for every 72-73 residents.

The fallacious suggestion that we have an oversized bureaucracy springs from and is fed by mere mathematical ignorance. Unless you want McDonald's-level service at the DoL in which case you're a bigger masochist than even the most sadistic stereotypical DMV worker could ever imagine.

Zimmerman pursued and hectored Martin. If we're all about self-defense then why are Martin's actions being spun by denialists as some kind of attack when Zimmerman's history and the evidence shows he basically ran down Trayvon?

He's had history of making useless calls to 911 and even called the cops on a "suspicious" kid no older than 9. The hypocrisy of denialists that are decrying the speed of conclusions while immediately spinning scraps into some grand conspiracy is staggering at this point but not surprising. Heck, look at the fact that all these websites are posting pictures of Trayvon, the bad guy...except it's not him and this not-the-right-one photo was dug up by Stormfront.

There are certain gun laws that do indeed enable reckless behavior and that has been the crux of outcry beyond the death of a teenager, but instead of having that conversation the denialists are getting whipped into a frothy mix about everything but the larger conversation.

So NOM is going to just parachute out-of-state money into Washington to overturn an in-state piece of legislation and meddle in our corporations? Well, that's classy.

Nobody is afraid of votes except as an obstacle. The problem with voting is in precedent, empty rationales and its lack of consistency with other change implemented by the government.

If you asked what we were offended by, though, then that'd get you a book's worth of explanation.
