I have no intention of being offensive to anyone and i am sorry if you feel offended. We were discussing whether this marine should have faced charges, no more.

Sorry, i will have a look at the 2010 one now. I think it is you who might be in denial. In any case, Osborne was always saying from 2010 on that the deficit would be removed by 2015.

UKIP are only attracting those who feel strongly about immigration. Some might call these people other names. But the highest anti-immigration feeling seems to come from those areas that are least affected. Unlike, say London, which has the highest mix of people.

And are ex-servicemen, who also have a not unbiased view? It's a very interesting discussion, but I feel we are not going to win this either way, and so we must agree to disagree.

From the 2015 manifesto:

Those with the broadest shoulders have contributed the most
to deficit reduction – which is why inequality has fallen,
and child and pensioner poverty are down – and they will
continue to do so

We will increase NHS spending every
year. We will control spending, eliminate the deficit, and
start to run a surplus

We will go from stuck in the red, to
back in the black. By building on the foundations we have
put in place, we will have a truly national recovery and be
able to pursue our ambition for Britain to become the most
prosperous major economy in the world by the 2030s

My comment was factual, with no value judgement. Politicising it doesn't help. We are after all talking about manifesto commitments and whether they are sacrosanct or not. It seems that some are, and others not! Anyway, I'm on your side, I think that Hammond and May should have stuck to their guns. The whole thing had virtually died down anyway, until today's announcement.

And presumably you were in the armed forces, where you were taught to kill or be killed? Sorry, but there is no way I could take another person's life. And certainly not in the cold way that Sgt Blackman did. That doesn't make me any better or worse than you.

My views are just as valid as yours, albeit from a different perspective.

You then have to face the consequences. If you are going to do it, don't gloat and don't get filmed.
