I’m the type of person that doesn’t like to fight for stupid, reasons I always try to find solutions with out having to fight, there only few things that could make me want to fight people, and in this cases killing someone. It will take a lot to make even think about killing someone. To me my family is the most important aspect of my life, I think anything that threatened the life’s of my family will definitely trigger me to killing the person or who ever even thinks about harming my family. I always think if it was ever to happen what my reaction would be, and is usually to killing the person that did it. But like I said it would take a lot to make so mad that I would choose to take someone’s life. I think a scenario like the one a just explained would definitely make become angry and become a totally different person. Off course something else that can probably cause me to want to kill someone would be if my life was in danger, so if a guy came trying to attack me, and I try to defend myself and end up killing the person trying to hurt me. I believe that I take a lot of guts, or just or something is mentally wrong with you to kill a person. I have seen someone die in front of my eyes, and it is not a pleasant experience. A guy got electrocuted in front of my house when he was trying to help fix two high voltage cables that broke loose and were cut in half. The guy worked for the local electric company so he knew what he was doing, but that day he was off, but still walked down the street to see if he could help. Everyone was watching, they had cut the power off so that the cables would not harm anyone. The guy decided to grab one side of the cable I don’t know why, well maybe 5 minutes later after he had the cable in his hand, all you saw was a spark and the electric chock that the cable gave him was so strong that it picked him up from the ground and fell on his back on the floor, everyone try helping but no one was able to do anything because there was power on line and anyone who try helping was going to die. Everyone was screaming, and crying. People tried calling the main base to tell them that the power was on and that someone was dying but it was too late. After the power was turned off they took the cable off his hand, and I saw how they took to the hospital. The people that picked him up said that he was really warm because of all the electricity, and that he was already dead. I was 7 when it happened and that scene has never been erased from my memory, but the worst feeling is the fact that no one was able to do anything to help the guy. This is why I think that it has to be very difficult to take someone’s life, I saw how painful it was to see a guy die in front of my eyes, and I think that only something really serious can make me kill someone. The other reason why I would kill someone was if I was in the army, well I would basically be forced to kill the enemy but I think it would still be hard because after all is a life I’m taking away, and life is the most precious gift.

I liked the message that Sam was trying to send everyone in class, I think is important for us to understand cultures and religions before we can judge. There are so many different cultures and religions in today society that we most coexist with. I think that Muslims are judge incorrectly today, and treated bad because of the stereotype that people have created after “9/11”. I think it was a very good example when Sam had the whole class think they where Muslims and played videos of Americans talking about Muslim being a religion that should be terminated. If I was a Muslim I would feel scared of Americans and would like them because of the things I hear they say. It’s the same with Americans everyone in the United States feels scared of Muslims because they think they are all terrorists but he truth is that they feel the same way we do tours them, everyday innocent people die because of U.S. attacks. Children are some of the victims that are caused by missiles, bombs, drones, and many other mechanisms that cause the death of many people in the Middle East. I think if I was to put my self in the shoes of an Arab Muslim and I lived in the Middle East I will be scared of Americans because of the ideas that they have and the hate that they have tours Muslims. In the past religion has always caused many wars, and innocent deaths, today there is no exception it has bee going on for many years. The United States likes all this countries from the Middle East and I think wishes they could take over these countries because of their oil. Many Americans today do not know how much Arabs suffer thanks to us, and I don’t think we should take more responsibility of all those innocent lives that our taxes are killing. If I was an Arab Muslim I would probably hate Americans with all my heart for all the pain they cause to my people.

Immigration in the united states is a big problem, thousands of people cross the border every year most of the the time looking for a better future specially for their kids. Latin American countries have big economical problems, the governments are very corrupt, and delinquency is usually really high.
people from other countries come to the United States because they have to, nobody wants to leave their family and home behind, to come to a country were everyone speaks a different language, and the culture is completely different.
Another reason why people emmigrate is because they bilieve their kids can have a better future here in the United States, more opportunities, and at the achieve the American Dream.
most immigrants come here to the United States to work, unfortunetly a stereotype occurs when some immigrants decide to come to the United States to make problens, and do deviant stuff.
i think the governement should help the immigrants that come here just to work hard to help their families progress, instead of treating them like criminals.
If the United States would help the the immigrants that are already here by making them legal so that they can have benefits, pay taxes, and live a normal life without having to hide.
the immigrants who have a criminal records should be deported, and also any immigrant who commits a crime should be deported, because i believe that only immigrants that come to the United States to work hard, and
obey the laws should be able to stay and have the chance to be legalized. The United States should also try to give working visas, or temporary working permits so
that people from other countries can come work for a certain period of time.i think that will definitely help prevent people from coming to the United states
illegally, because they will have a chance to work legally and this way they will not need to cross the border anymore.i believe that the government should really start thinking on ways that they can fix problem, specially the students who are not legal here and all they want is to go to college and get a degree.

I think the immigration topic is a very controversial topic, especially if you get Native Americans involved. The United States is a country that was built by immigrants, since the beginning of its time there has been large amounts of immigrants coming to the Americas searching for a better future. I don’t understand why certain people think they are the ones who are the true natives, and because todays government says you are a citizen it does not give you the privilege to kick other people out when there are Native Americans suffering because of our ancestors, and those are the people who should be deciding who stays and who doesn’t. I todays society there are different types of immigrants those who enter illegally through the border and those who enter legally either by coming in airplanes with the right paper work or other ways that are legal, but at the end they don’t only come to visit they stay. It is sad to see how Native Americans live today, and it is all thanks to us. I know that the reason for everything that has happened to Native Americans is our ancestors fault, but we cannot say that we are not responsible for the outcome of what our ancestors did so we should live our own lives trying to succeed, and stay alive, because thanks to our ancestors who killed many Indians for land, and many others things we are here today. If our ancestors did not come to America to colonize it would have been impossible to see our selves where we are today. I believe that Native Americans have been forgotten many people don’t even know in the conditions they live. Throughout my years in elementary, middle, and high school I don’t think I ever heard any book or teacher speak about the Native Americans or the struggle tat they have to go through today. Native Americans are the poorest people in the United States today, not Black, Or Hispanics are the poorest, like most books will say, but Native Americans. I think is important to teach people the reality of today’s world and how United States was built by spilling innocent Native American blood. Native Americans have the right to hate anyone who is not Native, because we did take their homes, and today we have them living in their own homes in restricted reservations, and I don’t think is fear. I think what same said the other day in class hit the nail right in the head, when he told the class to imagine that someone would come to your house and tell you that in the name of the queen we are taking this house, and it doesn’t end there they also kill some of your family members, and make live by their rules, where they want to place you to live. I think that is the best way to explain what happened.

I believe that change always starts from a single idea that grows to be the voice of the people who support this idea. I do think that your idea matters, I do believe that you are making a difference, because by you not updating your phone to a new one you are not fueling slavery to make that new phone that you are not getting because you refuse to buy something that is made by slaves. The average person that is into technology and likes to update phones every time a new phone comes out, but people like you are the ones who decide to step up to the plate and express your ideas, that small action could lead to bigger things, and big things happen because of small ideas. If you where to tell your friends the reason why you don’t buy a phone often, you can get them to change their view on the subject, and then maybe they can spread the word to other people. I think that you by yourself statistically are not making any difference on the global market but, all the people like you combine are definitely making a difference, But your act definitely matters, because by you doing what you do people open their eyes and actually see your point and they start to do what you do, and later becomes a real problem to the global market. Is because of people like you that tyranny, and justice is done because you are not scared to say what you feel or swim against the current in a world where everyone swims with the current. It is important that we don’t let things like slavery happen in todays world, and make sure that we try our best to fight and prevent slavery from happening. It is not fair to those people to die working for something so materialistic like cell phones, or any other artifacts. In conclusion I believe that the global market depends on popular demand, because people buy cellphones either because it makes them cool, because they can show it to people and brag, etc. . Popular demand is never going to stop in this world, and this means that companies using people like slaves to make these artifacts are never going stop either, but people like you with tiny acts like yours make a big difference in this world. I suggest you keep doing what you, and spread your ideas of change. Acts like yours really matter, because no one else dares to step to the plate and speak their mind about issues that should not be allowed in todays world, like using people like slaves to make popular artifacts for today’s society.

The video was very interesting, and it was very impressive the different reactions that people had to the different scenarios. I was not surprised by what I saw, but I was definitely amazed to see it happen with my own eyes. It is very sad that people still have stereotypes in their minds. It was amazing to see the White guy trying to steal the bicycle that was chained to a sign with different tools, and no one even tried to report to the police. The people that saw this happen would just go pass him like nothing was going on, and if they did stop to check what was happening they would just ask him if he lost his keys. The White guy was stealing the bike but no one did anything because he was White and to the people in the park he was just trying to cut the chain, because he had lost his keys. After they were done observing they ask the people that walked by the guy trying to steal the bike why they didn’t stop the guy or called the police. I think many people at that moment when they ask them the question immediately knew that they were definitely wrong. The interviewer asked them if the reason that they did not stop the guy or called the police was because he was White and every single person immediately said no that is definitely not the reason, some of the answers where that they thought he had lost his key. Fortunately they also did this test but this time they did it with a Black guy playing the role of someone who is stealing a bike at a public park. The results were just what I had predicted, the man had like a whole mob of White people surround him in a few minutes, one was calling the police, the other one was taking his tools away, and others just trying to take the bike from his hands. Everyone immediately though he was stealing the bike, the reaction compared to when the white guy was stealing the bike was the complete opposite. It is very sad that people today still think with a stereotypical mind. After the observation was over they interviewed everyone and asked them questions. They asked them why did they call the police, and most of them answer that they were just doing their jobs as a good civilian. The interviewer also asked them if race had anything to do with the fact that they called the police, and tried to stop him, and their response was that race did not have anything to do with it. But we the results explain otherwise, everyone saw how in the first video the white guy had rarely anyone approach him to see what he was doing, and everyone basically though that he had lost his keys, but in the other case when the Back guy was stealing the bike there was an immediate reaction, everyone though he was stealing the bike. I believe that peoples believes definitely did not match with their actions, the people at the park definitely discriminated the black guy, and I believe the same thing will happen if it was a Latino, or Hispanic person.

I think that veterans in this country are not supported how they should be especially because they put their lives at risk for this country. Many people are proud to show their support to war veterans but I think that a small quantity of these supporters can be called true supporters. Many veterans come from war with traumas, brain injuries, and many other problems that affect them in their everyday life and most the times they end up committing suicide. Some soldiers come back so traumatized with war that once they get to the U.S they still think that they are in Afghanistan, or Iraq, and the lack of help sometimes leaves them no choice but to commit suicide. Sometimes these soldiers do not get the help that they need from the government, many they just cannot find jobs due to their disabilities and they feel pressured because they do not have money. I think the government does not do a very good job helping veterans, and they basically have to care of themselves after they come back from war fighting for this country. Back in my hometown there are many war veterans, but there is one in particular that caught my attention. I use to work for a coal and oil delivery company and on one the deliveries I saw I guy he looked like he was homeless walking down the road by himself, I asked my boos he was driving the truck if he knew him, and he told me that indeed he did know him from back when they were kids. I was surprised and I asked what happened to him now, and he told me how he was a war veteran from Vietnam. He also mentioned how different he was after he came back from Vietnam; he basically became crazy probably because of the traumas from war. He also told me how no one really helped him, no the government or the people that support the troops and veterans. It is very sad that many veterans today are taking their own lives because they are receiving the support that they need. I think that many of the people that support the troops today only do it on paper, and they do not do a single effort to actually help or change a veteran’s life. The government should definitely help the veterans more because at the end of the day they are protecting us, fighting for our country, and putting their lives at risk for this country, and the citizens of this nation. If they suicide rates are so high for war veterans that means that the government it’s not doing a good job at helping veterans from war.

I do not think we have any type of responsibility for those who are less fortunate than us, but I think is a nice deed to help those who are less fortunate than us. Helping someone should not be something that you do because you feel guilty, or responsible. When you help someone in need I believe that it should come from your heart to help them, and not feel pressured because you fell responsible. There is a lot of poor people in this world today that need everyone’s help, but I do not think no one should feel responsible for what they are going through, I think instead feeling guilty people should actually just act and donate or help anyone that needs the help. Some people feel very guilty and responsible and they always talk about it to friends and family members, but never do anything to help those in need. When I help people I help because I want to, because when I help I feel them I feel good inside, I feel like I am making a difference I never do it because I feel responsible, and I never expect anything back. I visit New York city often and as you all may know or at least the people that have visit New York city there are a lot of poor homeless people roaming the streets of NYC, and every time I see someone who I can help I do it, but most of the time I do not give them money because a lot of times the use this money to buy drugs, alcohol, or cigarettes so I usually buy them food. One time I was in NYC and there was a woman asking for something, or any spare change that anyone had that she could have, I immediately wanted to help, so I went inside bought my food and ate. After I was done eating I bought food for the woman I walked outside and gave it to her, I saw the expression of gratitude on her face that made me feel so happy, and then she started crying thanking me for the food that I gave to her. Another time I was at a McDonald’s with my friends eating and at the entrance there was a young in his early 20’s that was asking for money for food, unfortunately he looked like he was consuming some type of drug, so decided not to give him money instead give him food. I ordered my food and a meal for the guy as well; everyone found seats and decided to start eating. I placed my food on the table and I walked outside to give the homeless guy the food he say thank you, as walk in and sat down I saw the guy looking at the meal and coursing being mad because he got food instead of money at that moment I knew that I had done the right thing because he was probably wanting money to buy drugs. After he got the food I saw him walk around the corner to drop the meal that he got from me where his stuff was and immediately came back to keep asking for more money. I felt very tricked but very satisfied for what I did because my intentions where to help him and I gave him something that is actually good for him. In conclusion I really think that when someone offers to help someone do not just do it because you have to because you might give them something that they are going to use to harm themselves like drugs, so I believe that it is essential to help but it has to come from the heart.

I think it’s a very good question. I never really put to much thought to this subject but after we discussed it in class a lot things came to my head. I agree with what Sam said about everyone living by what society says, because if society wants you to act, or dress a certain way everyone must do it to fit in and not look like an outcast. No one has the balls to go against what society wants from you, and like Sam said “all the fish are swimming one way and no one dares to swim the opposite way”. Different cultures have different believes and different ways of living. Today in our society a good looking women has to have a nice body, nice hair, and her body has to be hairless to be an attractive woman. That’s what today’s society and men want women to look like, but that’s in our society here in America. There are many cultures in the world who behave different then we do. In some cultures women that are with a little more than usual weight are actually considered attractive, in some others men are the ones that have to be selected by women, and actually play the role of a housemaid once the man marries the woman. In other words a person looks, lives, or acts a certain way depending on where they are from. For example the girl with the facial hair that we talked about in class, to her having facial hair is nothing bad because in her religion a person’s body is the creation of God and if god created you a certain way you should accept it instead of trying to change the way you look. In our society women cannot have facial because that is not attractive in our society. In our society only men can have hair anywhere and women have to be hairless because men find it masculine when a girl has hair, especially facial hair. People that don’t want to live by societies rules and decide to act, wear, or look a certain way that’s is different are immediately criticize for being themselves instead of acting like everyone else, because at the end of the day everyone today looks, act, even speak the same because that what our society is like. But I also believe like the girl that has the facial hair she also keeps the facial hair because that’s what her culture and religion is about, so when she is with her people that is completely normal. This is why when she goes to a foreign place she is always going to get people that criticize, or comment about the way she looks. If a girl from America will go to the place that she is from she would probably be the weird one, and the one that everyone is making jokes about. In some countries girls are not allowed to show any part of their bodies except their eyes, and that’s what attracts most men which is the mystery underneath all that clothe. In our society you have women walking half naked, to some cultures this could be very disrespectful.
