Back behind the machine now and downloading 1,1. Of course, 2,1 is for 2nd gen! I very much hope it works out this time. I was already considering buying 3GS w/ subscription.

I have tried 0.72 on Mac and it rejects 3.0. There's not much to do wrong about it.

iPhone2,1_3.0_7A341_Restore is the 3.0 software, is that correct?

8.0 on Windows XP SP3, 8.2.1 and 8.2 (tried both) on Mac OS X Leopard. I can restore to 3.0.1 which is currently the only thing that succeeds.

RedSn0w 0.8 crashes with "Waiting to reboot".

Yup, I've tried all, 0.7-0.8, all from official torrents. 0.7 or 0.7.2 does not recognise 3.0. Tried both on Mac and Windows.

This is all rubbish. 0.7.2 does not accept 3.0, as I said above.
