I no longer believe anything Davis says - he is a pure blusterer now.

Not sure why you are using the past tense there

Hopefully they will. Then, when the sky doesn't fall in - which it won't, as I am aware of what some of these entail - the scaremongering the civil service are using to try to force the government to stay in the EU in all but name will be shown up as just that. And we can have a real Brexit.

This article and the whole set of issues it touches on are just distractions, typical SW1 parlour games with no relevance to the real world.

In the real world, the government capitulated this month to the EU on all key points, including the incredibly dangerous Irish border 'backstop'.

In the real world, the Treasury has blocked testing and preparation of new customs systems and the civil service is now trying to halt Brexit contigency planning (such as it is...) as well to narrow our negotiating room for manoeuvre still further

In the real world, MoD officials have been pushing us into an future EU army by the back door, have been revealed as doing so, and the government has said and done nothing about this.

In the real world, a complete Brexit sell-out, comparable to Cameron's risible renegotiation, is more or less in place. But our MPs are limiting themselves to writing the odd polite letter about it.

If this issue had any salience at all. Corbyn would already have gone.

Yes, spot on. They still think we are all stupid.

There won't even be such a trade off, nor is it necessary (though they may try to spin it as such). It's totally dishonest.

Gove should have resigned. He still has time.
