Portland News, Oregon News and Local Weather from KPTV FOX 12 News : Hillsboro School Bars Autistic Boy\'s Dog - Portland News Story - KPTV Portland

Yet, calming a child NOW and letting all things possible help him NOW, will help him be a better adult. Being a calm Autistic person does SAVE his life. Have you seen a child with Autism who is not calm and out of control? His service aide WILL calm him back and could very well save his life. Some Autistic folks actually become runners and more without any notice at all. The dog is a certified service aide. ALL rules about any pet do not apply to service aides. Children with allergies and being scared can be identified and the school can do their job when placing kids in classrooms in the future (like how some parents actually place requests for their child to be placed in a classroom with their best friend – OR - not placed into a classroom with a certain child).

You don't have a service animal work one minute and then not the next. Imgaine how this dog will feel NOT knowing where his charge is when he's made to stay behind while the youth is at school. This dog was trained to be there for this child at all times and he knows this.
