I would probably not have given the show a chance in the first place, but if I had, then yes. It's a good show.

Even if it had seemed like I was the only person who knew it existed, a good show is still a good show. Back in middle school I felt like the only Norwegian who knew Farscape existed (it didn't air here and I found it through online forum discussions), yet I was completely obsessed with it.

I would definitely not have created a DeviantArt account and started drawing/vectoring for the first time in my life without all the fan art out there though. So, that one's all because of the fandom.

To those who say we don't "need" another brony documentary; Just because you already know all about bronies and won't get anything out of watching it doesn't mean others won't.

As an astrophysics student I find the TV documentary series "The Universe" very slow and uninformative, but I still think it's great that it's out there, because it informs a lot of people who don't know that stuff already.

It was Sabersparks previous documentary, "Ballad of the brony", that made me give the show another chance (after I had already dismissed it as "not for me"). Whether this new documentary will strive to inform bronies, non-bronies or both, I'm sure it'll turn out great and I can't wait to see it. Even if it's information I've heard before, I have faith in Paleo & Sabersparks ability to make it entertaining!

You took the words right out of my mouth.

I'm completely open minded about Equestria Girls. I won't judge it until it comes out, and if it's bad, I'll just... not watch it, no problem! To keep all the main characters except one seems a little mean though.

There were many, many posts about specific background ponies and fanon, which I didn't count. I believe there was only one post who disputed the claim that bronies take 'background characters in general' too seriously.

There are A LOT of the same issues mentioned here in different words. Because I was interested in seeing exactly which points were brought up the most, I have tried to summarize the arguments and count the number of posts they were mentioned in:

35 posts - More love, tolerance & living up to alleged brony values
32 posts - Less bickering about change in general
32 posts - Sexuality & violence in art, fiction & attitudes is a problem (disputes this: 14)
26 posts - Less bickering about Alicorn Twilight (disputes this: 2)
25 posts - Bronies should tone down the evangelization of bronydom (disputes this: 1)
23 posts - Bronies need to accept that people have differing opinions
21 posts - Stop disrespecting previous generations (disputes this: 4)
19 posts - Bronies need thicker skin and stop being offended so easily ("disputes" this: 1)
19 posts - Brony elitism is a problem
18 posts - Stop complaining about people who complain (disputes this: 1)
17 posts - The brony community has too much drama & intrigue
16 posts - Bronies take background characters too seriously (disputes this: 1)
13 posts - Less love, tolerance & phony values that isn't always applicable
9 posts - Less bickering about Equestria Girls (disputes this: 2)
8 posts - Stop taking the show too seriously or over-analyze it (disputes this: 8)
8 posts - Too many bronies don't accept the fact that they aren't the target audience
8 posts - Bronies treat Lauren Faust unreasonably and/or involve her too much
6 posts - Brony exceptionalism is a problem (+5 think it's present in this thread)
6 posts - Sexism/homophobia in the brony community is a problem
5 posts - Bronies are overreacting to Hasbros C&D (disputes this: 1)
5 posts - Bronies should be more vocal about falling show standards (dispute premise: me)
5+++++ - Nothing is wrong (I didn't count them at first)

Note that I only created a few simple categories and counted all posts I personally felt fitted into them. Don't take my numbers too seriously. The points I counted could be somewhat different from the category I counted them in, but I tried my best to only count those that can be summarized as such.
I might also have counted people twice if they posted about the same thing more than once, but I tried to skip posts on the same issue by the same person.

Though there were a lot of them, I did not count up fanon issues (or "favorite pony"-esque issues). I just didn't think they were consequential enough. I know I'm being bias and subjective.

After skimming through the discussion so fast, I underestimated how long it would take to properly read all the comments. I don't think I'll be doing this again.

I don't mind the style at all. If you ask me, what matters is that it's kept consistent.

The skin color is fine, as long as the rest of this world they're creating is as colorful and diverse as they are. If everyone else walks around with normal skin color, the difference needs to be addressed in some way. Same goes for the ears and tails. If the rest of the world does not have them, they should explain why they're different and be treated as if there is a difference. Hopefully they will look like all the other characters in the show though (at least there would be fewer small issues to deal with if so).

It's like The Simpsons. The style looks fine and they keep it consistent, so what does it matter if it doesn't match reality?

In the end it's good writing, animation and performance that really matters.

That hasn't been my experience (with the services I mentioned, as well as a few others) at all, but if you're paying for it and the quality isn't up to standards, that is, of course, unacceptable.
