Not that SK will ever see this but it will make me feel better to post it.

Dear SK,

I have read your books for years. Even when the story wasn't the greatest I loved the way you wrote it. I was always so eager for the next one to come out.

I didn't really care where you stood on the issues, you were a writer. But since you had to be so public about it you have forced me to care. I wish you would have just kept your mouth shut and wrote books. Wrote Well!

There would be no issue if you would have simply stated your difference of opinions with Beck and Limbaugh. Heck, half the country disagrees with them. I have no problem with honest debate and opposing point of view. But why call them names?

I have lost all desire to read any more of your writings. I considered myself patronized by you. I wish I could get a refund.

Oh... sheesh. I just wish entertainers would keep their politics quiet. Not that they don't have the right to. I just hate it when some actor/actress/singer that I enjoy says something or takes a position that is so offensive to me.
~sigh~ It will be a while before I watch "A New Hope" again.

It IS kind of interesting to read articles like this. But it also drives me nutz!!!? The 'Hollywood Elite' are almost the worst place to get opinions on world affairs (second only to gutter scum). I get the sickest feeling in the pit if my stomach when I ingest the opinions of liberal actors and actresses. Some of them may be informed but the majority of them simply parrot what they hear around them forming no real ideas of their own. Many on the right do that too, but the Hollywood crowd think themselves to be experts in almost ever hot button political issue. And another thing (while I’m griping)... They have all the fame, all the attention and all the money. I’m equally sickened by awards shows where they pat each other on the back. We are really stupid to throw our money and these people to be entertained. ~Banging my head on my desk!~

The media has not been honest in headlining this story. This is not a case of cyber bullying. From more detailed reports (which also headline as a bullying case), this girl was raped and assaulted. The charges the ‘boys and girls’ are facing include rape, assault, criminal harassment and stalking.

Cyber bullying or any other type of bullying isn’t a crime and really shouldn’t be. But this goes way beyond that.

The headlines should be more accurate.

I didn’t say if agreed or disagreed with spending money on this spot. I addressed your premise that it hurt other needy people. But since you asked… I have no disagreement with one 30 second spot that promotes something positive. As of January 11th CBS had sold 58 half-minutes spots at an average of 2.5 million each. Most of those are probably for erectile dysfunction, insurance, and beer. And I don’t have a problem with that either… I bet most of the advertisers give charitably.

The ad may or may not be about the abortion issue. It could be about home schooling… it could be about anything. But it probably is about choosing not to have an abortion. In this context it is not a political issue but a moral one. The laws concerning abortion are political but not the voicing your personal opinion about it.

I think everyone has the right to contribute to the political process. Actually, I think everyone has a DUTY to do so. Tax exemption is not based on your mission – it is based on your PROFIT MOTIVE. FOTF nor Tebow will profit from this commercial… but perhaps one mommie and one baby will.
