TechCrunch : Apple's Midnight Surprise: A Redesigned Mac Mini With HDMI

It is a nice thought, I don't see it happening. Optical HD media is losing to the world of digital HD media. And I love Blu-ray, but sadly, Steve Jobs does not. Apple finds emerging technologies to ride upwards, and expels those that are trending downwards ... flash, optical media. What's the market going to reflect in 18-24 months, Blu-ray or digital download? That's where Apple will be.

It doesn't matter how well Apple.com performs, the AT&T account check will drop your call every time. http://drp.ly/1cb2bM

Congrats to Peter and Trinity Ventures! Not only has BillShrink been doing incredibly well, it is also attracting a lot of great talent too. The company will be in good hands with Schwark Satyavolu (co-founder) as new CEO.

Group buying bubble and aggregators! There is no mention of Yipit in the article, a service that has been written about on TC a couple times, but no mention of them here.

TechCrunch : Google Latitude Has 3 Million Active Users, Check-Ins Likely On The Way

MyTown's 2 million users are concentrated *only* in the US; that's huge. Foursquare and Google Latitude are spread internationally. I cannot remember when anyone of my colleagues mentioned latitude or when I last used it. I love the mobile UI, I just haven't found any value for the service.
