Michael Hyatt Blog : Embrace the Concept of “Permanent Beta”

This is a point that my wife is continually pounding into my head. If I'm being honest, I'm a perfectionist. I'll sit on something, an idea, a product, a service, for months and then eventually give up. Last week she came into my office and lit a fire under me for a project I have been sitting on for a while. I have worked tirelessly to launch it and will complete it tomorrow. This is a first for me! And a relief! It's exciting to see something that has existed only in my Moleskine jump to life! Sure, it'll have issues, and I'm sure hiccups along the way, but nothing that can't be fixed! Jason Fried from 37signals says that "Inspiration is perishable." It has an expiration date and will go bad if you don't act on it NOW! Great post!

Michael Hyatt Blog : Book Notes: Interview with Andy Stanley

Mike, great interview! I too listen to Andy's leadership podcast and absolutely love every minute of it. I have to admit though, that I have never read one of Andy's books. I would love the opportunity to read The Principle of the Path and say that it was my first Andy Stanley book! Without reading this book I can tell you honestly that I am discovering this principle simply by living my life on purpose. My wife and I make financial goals together, life goals together, and individually we are making goals to get to certain places, or achieve certain goals. Already, this view on life is taking us from humble Harrisburg PA where our families have lived for generations, to Wilmington, NC, paving our own way and living life on purpose. Although I am young, I am excited to have learned this principle and look forward to where it will take me through the coming years.

Blake, welcome back! And thanks for the compliment! Lindsay and I have not been updating here as frequently as we would like, but we get one post out every week or so. Anyways, YES!! Self employment is the WAY to go :-) I'm actually submitting my letter of resignation next week to my current employer and will be self employed come July 1 of this year! So excited and nervous! Any ideas on what you would like to do in your own business?

Where You Are Now : WYAN Radio Ep 13 - Credit Cards Are Not Your Friends

stephen, not sure what type snake it is....sorry! I'll see what I can dig up. And NO!!!!!!!!!! I do not have a credit card for dire emergencies! That is what my emergency fund is for and that is why people should have no less than $1000 in an emergency fund. If it is a life threatening emergency, I'm sure that the people who will need to be paid will understand if you can't pay right away (due to a problem with your debit card or whatever). Credit cards are not to be used for emergencies! Hope this answers your question.

Where You Are Now : 10 Easy Ways to Make Your Financial Future Better than Yesterday

Prudence should be the word of the year for the world. If everyone stopped using debt and started to build up savings.....that would be amazing! Taking responsibility for your actions is also another problem that we are dealing with, and I'm afraid that root is very deep. Thanks for stopping by and for keeping the conversation alive!
