I used to do the ask a random bro, but 1) I don't trust them to spot me properly and 2) it always opened me up to unsolicited advice. Now I do what GruntledDave suggested: bench in a power rack. It has definitely helped me. No more relying on random people and no more fear of pushing the weight in case I get stuck.

This piece is one of the many, many reasons I'm going to miss The Toast. Thank you for sharing it, Alyssa. Lifting without a doubt changed my life. I spent most of my life trying everything possible to be skinny. I managed to recover from the eating disorder, but I never felt at home in my body until I started powerlifting. I gained at least thirty pounds of muscle (and had a few relatively minor freakouts about my new pants size) and have never felt stronger, happier, more at peace with who I am and what my body can do. I enjoy taking up space now.

Oh, totally. I got almost all the way through like, I know what's coming, I can't possibly imagine how she's going to pull this off, I refuse to have my emotions manipulated by this book, etc. And then sobbing.

This. I have never Redditted nor Slacked in my life, but would still like to Toastwitch.

I just finished Song of Achilles and was sobbing in bed at the end and had to be comforted by my partner. That almost never happens to me with books.

Slightly off-topic, but I had a Sunday school teacher try to tell us that Song of Solomon, the book of the Bible, was about man's love for God. Which, I mean, it could be, but really?

I'm glad I'm not alone in not agreeing with the advice about the cat. What really gave me pause is that the LW has been taking Kitty to the vet and making sure Kitty gets medication. Granted, we don't have the details of how long the friend had Kitty first, but it sounds like all the responsibility end of owning Kitty has been on LW. Which makes Kitty LW's cat.

I lived with a friend in college who adopted a cat. I was the one who fed the cat, cleaned its litterbox, and took the cat to the vet. So when I moved out, I took the cat. Pet ownership isn't just about how strongly you love the animal.

The line about choosing to hurt yourself equaling adulthood, too. Man, I don't know. I understand the spirit. But that seems awfully gendered to me.

Yeah I can't help but wonder if she had told Jon, if he wouldn't have gotten pissed and refused to fight with Littlefinger, you know? But I've also been on Team Sansa since the first season.
