I've just looked at some videos on he BBC News website reporting from the technology trade show, held in the US. There were videos from 5 different different reporters, none of whom was the BBC's Technology Correspondent, who was doubtless there too.

I'm sure sending 5 people to the US to tell us about such riveting developments as meatless sausages and a machine that cools a canned drink in 90 seconds is a good use of licence payers money.

The BBC has completely dumbed down and largely produces moronic drivel. Even programmes that used to be good, such as Horizon, have become ridiculously dumbed down and are now unwatchable as far as I'm concerned.

Indeed. It needs to be seriously slimmed down and to stop being so wasteful. Just few small examples of the BBC's profligacy: do we really need 3 commentators for a Wimbledon tennis match? Do we really need to pay John McEnroe £200K for 2 week's 'work'? Does the Antiques Roadshow really need to have specially woven material to place on the tables they use to display the objects being discussed? Does Huw Edwards really need to be paid £500K to read an autocue? Did they really need to send 455 staff to cover the Rio Olympics or to have 765 covering the London Olympics?

Of course, in the context of the BBC's overall budget these are fairly (or even very) small things but it shows the spendthrift mindset at the BBC. You can be sure that there will be thousands of such pieces of unnecessary expenditure, some pretty large, e.g. the Olympics coverage. If the organisation had a more responsible attitude I can well imagine that a few hundred million pounds could be cut from its budget without most viewers noticing.

If the Brexit Party hadn't stood in Houghton and Sunderland South the Conservative might well have won it. They lost by only 3,000 votes and the Brexit party received 6,000 votes. Not all those would have voted Conservative of course, but it would have been an incredible win if it had happened.

I must be about the only person on here who hasn't seen Love Actually, so the advert was rather lost on me.

We've been awash with leaflets and letters from the Lib Dems and Labour, and had visits from representatives of both (although not the candidates themselves). We've also had a couple of things from the Conservative candidate. This used to be a fairly safe Conservative set but at the last election became a marginal so they're all obviously fighting for every vote (or at least Labour and the Lib Dems are - it's disappointing that we have had much less from the Conservatives).

As this is a very strong Remain voting area I worry that many Conservatives will switch to the Lib Dems and let Labour win by default, something which could be repeated in other areas. We shall both be doing our bit though and will be voting Conservative.

I agree. It's an important point but I'm sure that everyone 'gets' it now and there are plenty of other important issues to discuss. It got a bit irritating having it brought into the discussion of every topic. Overall, though, I thought that Boris was the better performer but not by a wide margin. We learned nothing new and, as others have said, I doubt whether it will have changed anyone's mind.

I do wish, though, that when the Conservatives are criticised for the austerity cuts that Boris would remind everyone that they were necessary not just because of the global financial meltdown but because the spendthrift policies of the previous Labour government had meant that, in those infamous words of Liam Byrne - there's no money left.

There is nothing to gain for Boris by being interviewed by Andrew Neil. By doing so he's unlikely to make any waverers vote Conservative and if he does badly (and it's difficult not to with Andrew Neil) it might it put a few off. You might say he's running scared, I wold say he's showing political nous.

The Conservatives have just about got enough of a poll lead to suggest a decent majority is on the cards and they don't want to repeat the experience of 2017 and blow it.

Some time ago a friend sent me an e-mail encouraging me to sign a petition run by Avaaz. It was for a worthy cause and I did so. Since then I have received e-mails from Avaaz directly. Avaaz is described by Wikipedia as "a U.S.-based nonprofit organization launched in January 2007 that promotes global activism on issues such as climate change, human rights, animal rights, corruption, poverty, and conflict. The UK based newspaper The Guardian considers it "the globe's largest and most powerful online activist network"."

Since the election was announced I have received several e-mails from them urging me to ensure I have registered to voted and that I use that vote to ensure Boris does not win. Is this appropriate? I shall be unsubscribing from them because of this but I suspect many of the recipients of these e-mails, especially younger people, will act on them.

Mark Francois is correct when he says that a vote for the Brexit Party will make Brexit less, rather than more, likely, but I fear that his target audience for this article are unlikely to be readers of Conservative Home.
