Big Government : The Great Gibson Guitar Raid: Months Later, Still No Charges Filed

Tennessee went McCain in 2008 and Gibson is definitely non-union. Punish the people that work for Gibson and make his environmental cronies happy at the same time. More of this to come if the Obama Administration stays in power.

There are ways to punish China, such as taxing the products made from rare earth materials they send us by 40%. Not the best solution but they would get the message. If only we had business minded people in Washington with a pair.

Big Government : Senators Push Online Sales Tax Legislation

There was an editorial in the Tennessean this past weekend by Alexander about the bill. He felt it would be fair and stressed that the collection of taxes was optional and decided by each state. Come on, we know what it will be used for! How about fixing our current tax system first before work on bills that will be used to increase state revenue?

We knew this all along but don't expect the MSM to report about it. And why are we still allowing approximately 1.5 millon legal immigrants into the country every year given our high unemployment?

Big Government : President Obama Has Become Marginalized

This is an Inconvenience for a self-absorbed president. He wants to fly around on Air Force 1 raising money for his reelection campaign and play golf. It sounds like some of the Dems decided someone was going to have to get something done, and that means going around Obama.

Big Government : Tennessee Trumps Wisconsin: Kills Teacher Collective Bargaining. Dead.

The only reason this happened is because TN is a conservative state and voted out the Democrats during our last election (Republicans now control the state house and senate). They have been proposing (and voting) for a lot of other legislation that have made the Democrats very unhappy. TN won't tolerate the antics that happened in Wisconsin. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Big Government : Could Trump Pull a Perot?

If things still stink this time next year (high food/gasoline prices, high unemployment) then it will be unlikely that people will vote for Obama in the numbers they did in 2008. A lot can happen in a year, so I would not draw any conclusions at this point. I do, however, believe this will be the most important presidential election ever.
