Love the customizabilty, but Tweet count always shows zero. I read the comment above on this issue, I don't eve find the "same tweet count across all shorteners" checkbox. However, when I display diagnostic settings it has [tw_url_samecount] => 1. What else could cause no count display? Thanks.

Btw, independent of this experience I find myself using eBay less and less. As a buyer, I used to find great deals, but increasingly Amazon is becoming my default shopping destination. As a seller (which is rather rare for me), Craigslist is really good.

The first one was the original story @ CloudAve. The second one referred to the fingerpointing update (Skype's response, he said she said....) that's why it has a different message text. The third one actually points to this blog, not the CloudAve version - I should find a way to shut off autotweet when I republish my posts from CloudAve, but keep it alive for new stories.

Let's step out of the iPhone world for a moment .. there is this little thing called Android :-) (100K activations per day?). Skype's own app is not generally available for Android users - not because there is no Android version, no, it's a business deal, giving Verizon exclusivity. They are the only US carrier that can offer Skype on Android. I guess I am a less-then-ideal user for Mint. I don't care about social stuff, sharing, stats, any of the analytical stuff. In fact I have not looked at the budgeting features of MS Money or Quicken for a long time. All I want is a reliable "book-keeping" program that downloads all my spending automatically, does some categorization and helps me use the data at Tax time.

I had very similar experience with the EVO recently, when Sprint's system collapsed, but because I could not know if I actually got charged, I had to call in.. calls did not get answered.  The entire process took 3 hours.

It's definitely not as bad. I went from 4-5 hours standby to 2 days standby just following a few tricks. But the problem is, these are simple (once you know) but not obvious tricks, which is why some EVO owners opinions are a world apart.

Rod, you can't generally compare coverage - only in specific areas. I fell for the "Verizon is the best" reputation only to find that it's just as week as others in my area. In fact here Verizon is slightly better for voice, but Sprint wins for data - go figure ...

I'm switching to the EVO from the Incredible I bought two weeks prior to I/O (could still cancel that in 30d). That said... my favorite phone is the one we can't get in the US yet: have you seen the Samsung Galaxy S at I/O? I was teasing the exhibitors they were giving us empty shalls, it felt so lightweight... and absolutely the best screen anywhere. As for battery life, back in the days of the Treo I bought two cradles, one for Office, one for home and simply developed the habit of dropping it in the cradle any time, and it worked like magic.

The original Nexus One release on T-Mobile was a perfect case for buying outright at full price, since T-Mobile has lower-priced plans without a contract, and in two years you'd save a lot more on those plans. Other carriers don't seem to support this: what's the point of getting a "contract-free" unsubsidized phone for Verizon, Sprint...etc if you can ONLY subscribe with a 2-year commitment, even if you bring your own phone? That's a joke :-(
