Try emailing them and then open them in ibooks. That's how I do it most of the time.

Just a friendly reminder: IOS 8 will be released today. If you upgrade you will lose your jailbreak and at this point we don't even know if IOS 8 will be jailbroken as well as if/when a public JB will be available.

Yes it will work. You can activate an unlocked 5s with any compatible SIM.

Here is what you do:
Download IOS 6
Launch redsnow
Click extras
Click Select ipsw
Choose the IOS 6 you downloaded.
Then connect your ipod on 6.1.3 and jailbreak with redsn0w
