Go into the Amazon app, then go to the "your apps" under "apps and games". Go across to "updates", and if it isn't there, pull down on the screen to refresh it.

If you haven't managed to update yet, I figured it out.
Once you go into the updates tab in the Amazon app, drag down to refresh the page. After I did this the update showed up.

When playing the not-so-free version I found that I got a lot of lag when connected to the internet, try disconnecting from any networks.

I'm in New Zealand, and I managed to install it after creating an Amazon account with an American address. I was connected to a VPN when I downloaded the app, but I don't know if I needed to be.
