It looked ridiculously wrong and stupid. They could also have used a different midget, the guy they took plays the midget in every other movie. Not so sure about the CGI for DR Manhattan either. It seemed unequal to me, great and bad from one scene to an other. As for the penis (hot topic of discussion in this thread) here is a quote from Wikipedia. "Gibbons wanted to tastefully depict Manhattan's nudity, selecting carefully when full frontal shots would occur and giving him "understated" genitals — like a classical sculpture — so the reader would not initially notice it." I did not find it distracting in the movie nor do I have any problem with seeing penises on the screen, however I think they missed the point. The soundtrack was awesome, Bob Dylan with the time they are changing and the Sound of silence by Simon and Garfunkel were my personal highlights. I did not really get why they used the Leonard Cohen song during the scene in Archie and turned the thing into a comedy... I think the ending was fine, it worked out pretty much the same way as it did in the book and for most viewers made sense. The original ending is better but we need to face the fact that most people would have laughed at it, if it would have been on the big screen. Alan Moore purposely made the ending absurd and insane to show that the human race will need an insane and irrational event to wake up. Overall it was a great movie, had some mixed feelings coming out of the theater but the more I thought about it, the more I liked it. The Watchmen is one of the most accurate adaption ever made. There is not much to say about the first 30 minutes or so beside that it was fantastic the panels from the book were literally coming to live. I was a bit disapointed with what came after. Some very important parts of the story were left out by the studio and from a fan point of view it felt like the movie as a whole was incomplete. I understand that the movie can't be 6 hours long but I strongly believe they should have released the 3 hours 30 minutes Director Cut. The death of Hollis Mason, one of the strongest moment in the book, will at least be released on the DVD. Jackie Earle Haley IS Rorschach the same way that Heath Ledger was the Joker. It is a perfect cast. Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the Comedian also stood out. I did not like Malin Akerman performance as Laurie but there is no doubt she is hot with and without her costume. She definitivly should keep the brown hair and do more topless scene in the future.
