Actually a few reasons to announce it early. It is called Marketing and setting up good viable story lines for the PPV. You really think they care about anyone's thoughts on Roman Reigns? They have given us a champion that is never there. Yet we still watch. Just booing someone doesn't mean anything. Once he is champion, we will keep watching and waiting for someone to dethrone him... There are other wrestlers to enjoy.
