Thanks very much, Jenni; I generally do credit pictures, but don't remember seeing any credit on the website at which I found it. It is indeed lovely work, and I'm glad to know where it came from and to give credit where due.

Whenever someone ends a comment with "Period," it is clear to me that they're not really trying to have a conversation. It comes off as exceedingly arrogant.

elephant journal: Yoga, Sustainability, Politics, Spirituality. : The Kundalini Chronicles: Going Off My Meds.

Hi, Benjamin. Well, I come from a pretty open-minded tradition, so no, I don't have to tussle with other Christians about meditation; in fact, I teach it at my church! When I taught music at an evangelical university, many of my students meditated, though I know some of the faculty were anti-meditation. What kind of meditation do you do? Perhaps your wife might be interested in one of the ancient Christian contemplative practices, like the Jesus Prayer, or Lectio Divina, or Centering Prayer (which is a modern revival of an old Christian practice.) If you like, you could message me through <a href="http://www.opentothedivine.com," target="_blank">www.opentothedivine.com, and I could recommend some books on specifically Christian meditative practices.

Thanks, Filip! I never "got" pranayama--always kind of hated it, in fact--until I began Kundalini Yoga. My voice teacher used to say, "I believe in breathing a lot all the time," and pranayama always seemd like more or less the opposite of that to me. But kriyas like WYDKWTD don't make me feel deprived of air--in fact, they make me feel like I'm getting in touch with natural breathing.
