"and now you can all cheerfully tell me about how I should go to community college and relegate myself to permanent lower class status"
Hot damn. Well. I guess since I went to community college and didn't even get a degree, I should probably prepare for my life on the streets, nothing to be done about it now. I mean. Too bad everything I learned fell straight out of my head because I didn't get an expensive diploma to seal it in. Also too bad I'll never learn anything again, not without someone who already has a degree to teach me, and especially not on my own.
I mean. I knew I was choosing to be poor when I went to community college. Somehow I managed to leave without "LOWER CLASS" branded across my forehead... should I go back, do you think, or do you only get that once you graduate?

The plus side: I got really good at tracking bills, managing money, and budgeting out the week down to the last five dollars in order to make sure we could pay rent and eat food with our minimum-wage paychecks.
The down side: I got tired of being financial manager, emotional babysitter, and all-around mother to a grown-ass adult male man, and he is now my ex-husband.
The other up side: He is now my ex-husband.

I mean. WUT.
To be perfectly honest, I think the situation would have gone much better if the customer had been nicer to you.

I also hear ya on the stretching woes. I went from whatever gauge Claire's used in the late '80s/early '90s to a 0 over the course of... hm, maybe a year and a few months? Which, looking back, seems way too fast, probably. The 8g-6g jump is Not Fun, I do remember that. If I recall correctly, the rest is easier.
Until, apparently, you get to the jump between either 0g to 00g, or 00g to 7/16g? I can't remember which, but I remember having a friend who told me that one of those two was also a bitch.
She also told me that if you stretch wrong/too fast your earlobes will look like cats' assholes. I have both cats and improperly stretched ears. Can confirm.
So, go easy on yourself, I guess is the lesson here? Also, I have found that coconut oil makes an excellent lube for recalcitrant plugs and flares, once you've healed up.
