"I'd rather be dead in a ditch that delay Brexit"
"We are getting ready to come out on October 31. Come what may. Do or die."
So? What now?

So, Boris used enough war and combat oratory to neutralize TBP, and now he will use all this hard-earned Brexiteer cache to prevent a revolt from the right while leaving with a deal that gives NI away to the EU. Is that right?

Another week, another seat lost to the LibDems, and now the economy is shrinking. Time for a course correction, or is it better to persevere, and to change course only after "Brecession" becomes a popular word?

This article is incorrectly titled. It should say "more than 70% of Conservative party members say that they believe that the UK will leave the EU by October 31st."
If they really believed it, they could make a profit by betting so in betting markets. Party members say they believe we will leave just as Liverpool fans say they believe Liverpool will win the Premier League this year. It's an statement of support for the tribe, not an indication of true belief, and not an indication of collective delusion as other posters have indicated.

I agree. How does Boris waving a kipper while talking nonsense fit with these recommendations?

How about this Boris reelection suggestion?
1. Call a GE on Oct 31st and prepare for No Deal Brexit Oct 31st too.
2. Campaign as the Greatest Brexit Hero, quoting Churchill and singing Rule Britannia, etc.
3. Win -one hopes- a large majority with all the Brexit vote, and Lab/LD splitting the Remain in halves.
4. As disaster starts to unfold the very next day, now with a very large majority in Parliament, stave off a depression by urgently agreeing for EEA membership (SM, CU, free movement, the whole lot, BRINO) with the EU, to salvage the economy. Let Farage and the ERC howl; at that point, with a 100+ majority for the next 5 years, one can withstand defections.
Thoughts?

Ok, it's lost. Can we now tag Boris with the loss?

Lose an 8,000 majority in a Leave seat to the Lib Dems... Is this how the "Boris Bounce" works?
