Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 5/21/09: Uh-Oh, The Fed Says... Well, What GLENN'S BEEN SAYING!

Good comment, and I agree. My congressional delegation (Rep and both Senators) are probably sick and tired of hearing from me, but I have also had the pleasure of personal phone conversations with my congressman's aides as a result. I've even sent stuff to the President and that dolt, Pelosi, for all the good it does. Emails, letters, I do it all and encourage others to do the same. We cannot expect them to represent us if we don't tell them what we want.

I would simply prefer that the President not be allowed to take over the healthcare industry.

When corporations are faced with problems like CA's, they cut expenses, usually by cutting programs, cutting employees or by reducing salaries (often all three). With an average state salary of $81,000, it seems to me like CA might be inline for all of these measures. Their legislature has been out of control for years and I applaude the taxpayers for starting to reign them in. It's about time.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Organize This through 4/27

There are a lot of good comments here, but the best ones concern term limits. The founding fathers envisioned people leaving private life to SERVE in government for a short while, then returning to private life after that service. They did not forsee professional politicians making a career in government. Power corrupts, and our founders knew it. They were wise men who knew a democracy would work better with common people (not all lawyers either!) serving brief terms in office. Term limits are the only way I see of returning to that founding principle. Sadly, those in power protect their status like a junkie protecting his drug supply so term limits are an uphill battle against well entrenched office holders. If they could be enacted, and it would take a Constitutional amendment to do it, it would be a huge step towards correcting our country's erosion.
