"Making Work Pay" tax credit. So, this year, work is paying less. Obama SWORE and repeated ad nauseum, he "will not raise your taxes if you make less than $200,000 a year, not by one dime." Ashrak, you bring up an interesting issue that must be discussed before it is too late. A person here designated by today's laws as an "illegal alien", not born here, not born to 2 US citizens, may one day in the near future be considered a US Citizen by fiat under the lawless President we have now. If this issue is not decided now, how will it be if a once "illegal alien" decides to run for President? Will the left support him/her as a great life story irregardless of the law? do you think any Democrat or progressive will fight a once illegal alien in their run for President? The use of "natural born" was to prevent interlopers from having a child that could be president. The actual wording in the Constitution is "No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States." The line "or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution" was to allow the signers and writers of the Constitution to run for President since many were not born here. To the writers of the Constitution, natural born meant born to US CITIZEN Parents. Thus the attempts to modify the language as noted above in my linked posting.
