PLEASE!!! YOU CAN HAVE A JOB AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR KIDS TOO!!! AND COOK GREAT MEALS!!! I am the husband cooking in my house, the only time my wife cooks is when we are looking for the traditional Southern meals, and even then my daughter's will tell you that my take is still better... though they won't tell their Momma that, and I wouldn't them to... Melissa is a great Cook, Mother, and... I am looking forward to hearing some more of her tips...

yeah, Sandra's \"Tablescapes\" where totally stupid for a budget meals show. Why try to save money making a meal when you are going to blow more decorating the table? Only on VD and Anniversarry's, and even then I will probably focus more on decorating the BR than the DR.
--- On Mon, 8/3/09, IntenseDebate Notifications <notifications@intensedebatemail.com> wrote:

I like Melissa because I think that she has a lot more to offer than say... Sandra Lee. Which is much different than most of the women on FN. Reachel is probably my favorite to watch! Giada is OK cause she shows some authentico Itallian (though I really hate how she must use the proper Ittalian pronunciations of cheeses and pastas, and even hams, or bacons as proscuttio really is, a ham that is), which is my first food love. Neither of these ladies cook budget stuff. Daisy is really something different, and I love her food, and her family... but it isn't budget stuff. I can do cheap and great tasting for my own family, but, I am always on the lookout for more tips. However, I also like to suprise them with something really great, even if it costs more, (heck, unless you are an avid fisherman, and shrimper, you cant even make a low country boil cheaply, and that is one of my favorites in a bread bowl). Jeffery,on the other hand, will probably never produce a cheap meal, but... I would trust him to bring the flavor when it comes to what I would cook for special occaisons (Like Guy, Bobby, Taylor, and Emirel).

Yeah... I agree to a point... I don't trust Debbie, I would rather download recipes off of a stranger from the internet than to trust her... And you can find about any ricipe you want there. Asian food would be nice on the FN but that was not what she promised... She promised an Asian - Shouthern fusion. Which She Never Delivered!!!

Although she has always had one good point. CRUSH YOUR OWN GARLIC. It tastes better and, IT WILL KEEP IN THE FRIDGE, especilly w/some EVOO.

Yeah, tablescapes was definately the WORST part of her show! If your going to do a budget meal why all of the frivolous spending? SHOW ME 10 DOLLAR MEALS WITH FRESH INGREDIENTS! IT CAN BE DONE!

The FN Dish : After the Confetti

WOW! at some of the negativity at Melissa here. Sandra Lee is the only other FN show that focuses on budget meals, and I would much rather watch Melissa do it, as long as she keeps flavors as good as she has during the competition. Which can be done, even by me. FN is not stupid! They have utilized runners - up before. And, I expect that in this case they will. At least I don't think that we have seen the last of the ingredient smuggler.......

I am glad that one of my two favorites throughout the competition won... a little dissappointed that it wasn't Jeffery. But I love the idea for her new show. Would definately like her better at it than Sandra Lee, but what does that leave for Sandra? __I also know that runners up have gotten their own show. Any chance that we will be seeing the Ingredient Smuggler on FN? __Please. I would love to watch it!

Agree Anne, throughout most of the competition he seemed like another Bobby Flay (whom I think is one of their best talents), but I think with Alton's spin that he could have a really great show. Alton came up with a stroke of pure genieus there (Alton is one of my faves too), and Jeffery could really make that show work!

And yes! He has won the most challenges thus far, including the Red Lobster Wood Fire Grill out of his comfort zone! Which I thought was ludicrous, to take each contestant out of their comfort zone for such an important event, they obviously did not want RL to get the best recipes possible.

I Disagree! The al dente'ness of his risotto, altough it was a poor pick in pasta for something that was going to sit around for a long time, wasn't really his fault. Risotto is something that should be served immediatly. Which it would be in any restaurante. I thought the criticizm of that dish was unfair, they said nothing of the flavor, only the soupiness of the pasta.
