Sure, bring him back, but never have him appear on screen. I lik emy super villains as elusive puppetmasters.

yeah, the whole terrorism thing is a perfect recipe for an amazing Bond film - think Die Hard 3 on a global scale. I would love that type of Bond film. Global. Destructive. Angry. and eventually, one way or another, a bit personal. This Bond is ready to take the next step.

Temple of Doom is still a very heavy contributor to iconic Indiana Jones moments. Personally. I love every bit of it.

I think Crystal Skull showed that there isn't anything left with this Indiana Jones. Shelf it. Bring it back someday with a new actor trying on the hat in the late '30s. It may not measure up to anything without Harrison Ford, but Indiana Jones, if done right, might be one of the few characters that can survive the transition (see James Bond 21). However, I know that Spielberg, despite forgetting about tension in Indy4, still knows how to deliver a sequence. I'd like to think that anyway. The main thing is to kill the sequential storyline they have set up, and get back to Indiana Jones being Indiana Jones.

quit kidding yourself. It's a terrible film lacking any of the tension filled sequences that have made Indiana Jones an icon. Spielberg mailed it in. Who knows why? Even often criticised Spielberg films have sequences that succeed greatly on their tension. War of the Worlds had some very nice, tension filled sequences: revealing the tripods, fleeing the city, the ferry, the harvest, etc. Minority Report : The jetpack fight, eye surgery, the spider-bot search etc. Remember Temple of Doom? Iconic Indiana Jones sequences, with Indiana figuring out what to do and succeeding only to find himself in a worse situation than what he started in. Look no further than the stand-off on the walking bridge. So, where is this tension filled dramatic sequence in Crystal Skulls that has you defending this film? It's just....not... there. It's too bad really. Spielberg knows how to do it. He just didn't.

Don't forget the huge storytelling mistake of giving the prize, magical problem solving abilities. Nothing kills a film faster than creating a magic problem solver. The Crystal Skull was an instant tension killer.

It's not the aliens that were the problem. It was the handling of that myth and how they lost sight of it trying to tell a story that was so patched together, it didn't stand a chance. Couple that with the complete loss of dramatic tension that is the core of Indiana Jones, and you have a terrible, failed film. Anyone that knows anything about the Crystal Skull Mythology, cna see that there was something much bigger and better available to this story, but it was swallowed by a laundry list of bad ideas.

And since i'm still thinking about it, I would anticipate seeing Kaneda's bike (there are custom bikes out there) in action with the same interest as the Batmobile. Get a group of similar bikes together for the live action sequence? Can't even imagine how cool that would be.

/Film : Inception Has $200 Million Budget

Big budget sci-fi. He already has amazing clout, but if successful with this film, Nolan will be well positioned to be the heir apparent to some of the aging bigs in the industry. As example, Spielberg was hot stuff before Close Encounters, but after that hit, he had pretty much carte blanche to do whatever he wanted. No reason he can't still make small films, but if he continues to steamroll with the big stuff, he will have an amazing safety net.

Love that poster design for Crazy for Cult. Well done. Hurt Locker is a very good film. I hope it does well. The film DOES have repeated bomb deactivation sequences ( although, they are mostly successful. Otherwise it would have been a pretty short film). I'm okay with the poster as a companion to the others already out there, however, that tag line is pretty weird. I don't think it's an accurate tag for what these soldiers go through.

I'm not getting the cultural importance of these properties. They both seem like pretty universal sci-fi stories. Sure, a motorcycle chase would look great flying through the futuristic neons of Shinjuku and there is something to be said for the incredible music found in both Akira and Ghost in the Shell, however, I'd bet that anyone tapping into the live action is going to (hopefully) be heavily inspired by those things. There are opportunities here for an inspired filmmaker. As someone that has seen more midnight showings of Akira than I can remember, I'm ready for something new to wonder about. It might get a lot of people interested in the originals, which can only be a good thing for the future of similar entertainment. I wonder what Otomo and Shirow think.

I would like to see top-notch adaptations for both Akira and GitS. I love the Manga and anime of both of these and would love to see how it might be adapted. Could be terrible or it could be something pretty remarkable. I guess we'll have to wait and find out. ..and yeah, Battle Angel. Cameron had that in pre-pro for quite a while before getting sidetracked. I hope he does it.

/Film : Neil Marshall In Talks To Direct Predators?

Descent is a very nice film, but Doomsday is maybe one of the worst films I've seen in a while. It has absolutely no grounding core for what it wants to be, and tries to be everything as a result. The outcome of that makes for a pretty terrible film. It did sell me on Rhona Mitra as Lara Croft, so it wasn't a total loss. His films have nicely stylized lighting and that sensibility would make for a good looking Predator film.

Loved the film, but can't help feeling that it will one day be looked upon as the "straight man set-up" to the bizarre weirdness in store for us when we get to see the return of Ash. Drag Me Out of Hell is going to be a masterpiece.

I love your idea. I also believe that there is a lot of this story that hasn't been told yet. I never imagined Ash as the hell guru, but that would be about the best thing anyone could hope for. Maybe Christine isn't so nice in the next flick (she started with the kitten). On the other hand, maybe Christine has a little Ash in her that is only starting to come out (and you know that would be one of the best female hero roles ever). I hope it's more than speculation.

don't you think that Evil Dead 4 will really be Drag Me To Hell 3? Think about it. There is plenty of room for these stories to eventually collide. Perhaps, Ash being absent from this one will lend itself to some interesting plot creativity that no one (not even Raimi) saw coming.
