Agree on both Belhadj and Boateng, both players would slot in nicely to our squad and add some real competetion for starting places. What we would have to spend on the transfer of a player would be made up instead by higher wages which over the period of the players contract would roughly amount to what a player who was not on a free. i.e. we get Henry for free instead of forking out £7/8M on the Yak. Also to bear in mind is that we would then have to pay the Yak a decent wage on top of that transfer fee. Finally, either of these signings would generate a huge amount of money for the club in the form of merchandise. I see these deals as an excellent oppurtunity for the club to move forward without taking a high risk as both players are proven in the Premiership and anyone who says Henry is past it needs their head checked ! As you say though both are unlikely to happen and I hope that we are seriously looking elsewhere.
