Thank you! There was no intent to wiretap anyone's phones at all. He just wanted to show Sen. Landrieu was lying. I quote ""We decided to visit Senator Landrieu's district office -- the people's office -- to ask the staff if their phones were working," O'Keefe wrote." http://articles.latimes.com/2010/jan/30/nation/la...

Big Government : Terrorist Fears Will Force Obama to Send Troops to the Border

You touch on something that;s been on my mind for most of Obama's presidency. I keep thinking that all of these power grabs and unconstitutional actions were designed to provoke the American people into doing something. Strategy 1: get people to sue, thereby getting the issue to the Supreme Court. The strategy here would be to hope that one of the conservative justices retire or die so Obama could replace them with someone who will vote his way. Strategy 2: get the states to convene a Constituional Convention, in which case the strategy would be to hijack the process and convert the US into a European-style social democracy. Strategy 3: provoke a civil war or uprising, which would allow him to crack down and declare martial law. I hate to buy in to a conspiracy theory, but I just can't believe Obama wouldn't know that his actions would provoke a response by the people. He's a cold, calculating man would will stop at nothing to get his way.

"This why I believe armed American infantrymen will be soon be patrolling along the Mexican border for the first time since Civil War Reconstruction." If an attack happens, I believe Obama will head straight to Mexico to apologize for our citizens getting in the way of their bombs.

Breitbart.tv : Debate Crowd Boos CNN Question On Birth Control

One thing I've noticed again and again: most of the things conservatives and libertarians believe in regard to economics are straightforward and easily understandable. Most of the things liberals believe in regard to economics have convoluted explanations that try to convince the public that things aren't what they seem or that people won't do what's in their best interest. When a liberal calls you out as a simple-minded fool, it's because he or she can't fathom that great ideas can be simple. To them, an idea that wasn't somebody's doctoral dissertation just isn't worth knowing.

I agree that this decision is idiotic, but we have to remember that the Heller and McDonald cases were the BEGINNING of the fight to restore our Second Amendment rights.
Big Government : New Academic Study Confirms that Lower Tax Rates Are the Best Way to Reduce Tax Evasion

"Too big to fail came mostly because of systemic risk." No, too big to fail results from the mitigation of risk by various government institutions. The people who ran these banks expected government to come to their rescue. It's really not hard to understand. If I keep telling you (implicitly and explicitly) that I'm going to take care of you if things don't work out, you're a lot more likely to do things that are risky.

Most of us on the right do not believe in "too big to fail". This crisis would been over long ago if government hadn't propped up wall street. Banks are a lot more willing to make risky investments when government institutions keep promising to bail them out if things go sour. History keeps proving that it's impossible for regulators to know things like how much leverage is too much. What's too much leverage in certain economic conditions may be just fine in other economic conditions. Better to let banks decide for themselves how much leverage they want to take on, and let them bear the full responsibility of their decisions. If they make good on their decision and propser, good for them. If they crash and burn because of it, let THEM bear the costs of their bad decision. And stop acting like it's only Republicans who cozy up to Wall Street. Most of the big names on Wall Street are big-time donors to Democrats. Some Democratic politicians came from Wall Street too, like Jon Corzine.

The left's view of industry is that regulations will solve every problem ... even problems created by previous regulations. The left likes to complain about corporate corruption and crony capitalism, but can't see the connection between these things and the regulations they love so much. I'm always amused when the left says that we need such and such regulation to ensure some crisis "never happens again" only to see a nearly identical crisis occur after the implementation of the regulation. Remember how Sarbanes-Oxley was supposed to prevent another financial crisis? Lot of good that did. The ecomony is screaming that the heavy-handed regulatory approach to governing isn't working, but the left is completely deaf to it.
