Then it's shipped back up to Fairbanks, just to go to the business down the street. Anchorage is a 7 hour drive, 350+ miles, from Fairbanks. Imagine all this both ways for local mail in a state that is 3 TIMES the size of Texas. I'm not sure if it's that way for the entire state but that's how they sort FBKS mail. We used to have it sorted locally. USPS is not running an efficient operation. Also, what business would have such lousy customer service? Every post office I've ever been in, no matter what state, has taken forever in line, and indoor employees generally have surly attitudes.
